a little TF brag...

I've been eating pretty TF-y for the past couple of years, with a few lapses here and there but generally, pretty good. I was also raised by WAP devotees on home-grown organic veggies and wild meats & fish, whole grains (long-rise bread) and whole dairy (albeit pasteurized).

Sooo.... last week I went to the dentist for a cleaning for the first time in, like, 5 years. I was a bit apprehensive because in that time I went through a pregnancy and some health problems post-pregnancy, and I know the havoc that sort of thing can wreak on one's teeth. But as it turns out, my teeth barely even needed *cleaning* and there's no sign of anything approaching decay, whereas the last time I went I needed cleaning in a bad way and there were a couple spots the dentist was going to keep an eye on.

And, thanks to my childhood, my teeth were healthy to start with. Genetics does play a part, but my dad didn't have any of his own teeth left when he died 13 years ago and my mom has major dental issues and a mouth full of metal. So yay traditional foods and good nutrition! BTW I'm 35 and have never had a cavity.

Anyone else? Share your TF successes! (I need some more motivation, I'm turning the family hard-core TF for the next little while to deal with DH's health problems...)

I love reading posts like these!

I've always had good health, but bad skin and canker sores. So I didn't have any areas to really see huge improvement except there. And those issues are in the past for me now!

Congrats on your dental health! I feel like I am still stuggling in that dept, but I was not raised on TF and did some pretty bad dieting in the past so it may take a while.

I had anxiety/panic attacks starting around age 23 and then severe PPD/PPP after baby #1 at age 24. I started TF at age 26 and am now 27. Now I feel like a "normal" person! I really think all the healthy fats and meat balaced my brain out. (I did take extra nutrients and other supplements to recover, but I really think the TF diet is what made the biggest impact on my mental health)

It is also easy for me to maintain my weight without "dieting" and my hair grows fast now.
