I miss Gilmore Girls - Page 3

The way that it ended really was not cool. Although the entire season 7 was a bit lacking, just not quite right, as PP stated bad Gilmore was better than no Gilmore.

Then all of a sudden they announce that the next episode is the last one ever :

I didn't watch the last episode. I was too mad at them

What I really don't get, is that I have seasons 4, 5 and 6 on DVD and on one of them (I believe season 5), they are interviewing everyone and the writer said that she already knows exactly when it will end and already knows exactly what is going to happen prior to that and in the last episode.

I did NOT get the feeling that what happened was what she meant.

I too recommend Northern Exposure btw.

What do you mean, you didn't know the end was coming? They advertised for a long time, and we knew the season was ending.

The Sherman-Palladino team quit Gilmore Girls in April 2006 - so they didn't use their final season/ending that they planned.
I really want to know what the final four words of Gilmore Girls were going to be. Amy Sherman-Palladino said she knew what they would have been... but now, of course, won't say. Maybe if the rumoured movie actually happens she'll use them then!

Right up to the end there was talk about an 8th season or at least half of one. It was rumored to be a done deal. Then they broke the news that it was over right before the last eps aired.

DH and I are rewatching season 7 and it's so true..Bad GG is better than no GG....

Wow! Your DH likes GG? Amazing. I really liked this show, but it is one my husband just laughed at and scoffed at. I always wanted to watch shows like that with him, but our tastes are too different.

GG was a great show...I hope they make a movie or bring the series back.

Northern Exposure was also great, as other posters said.

DH LOVES GG..We've watched it together since season 1..Everything always came to a halt when GG was on..It was the one show we ALWAYS watched together..DH even watches them by himself sometimes when he's on the elliptical trainer, etc..He says it's smart and funny..

DH is the manliest of men but he likes clever writing and acting..He'll even watch Jan Austen movies with me because he says they're smart and clever. But then he switches back to football!!

Ok, if there was a wistful icon/smiley thing I'd post it here! Wow! You are so lucky to have a husband with those interests.

Yes, he is right! GG was smart and funny! It was so well written!! The dialogue was just so clever.

A husband who likes Jane Austen...wow. Just wow.

Kirk was on October Road last night as the friend of Janet, the bartender. It's certainly no Gilmore Girls, but it's fun to watch.

I noticed the same thing. But I am not a fan of October Road, it seems so trite and predictable.

I'll third? fourth? the recommendation of Northern Exposure. I love that show. Right now I'm enjoying Men in Trees. Similar to Northern Exposure in that it's a character-driven show set in a small town in AK. Not nearly as quirky as Northern Exposure, but it's not too bad.

What is this about a Gilmore Girls movie???? I REALLY want to know what ASP had planned for the last season/show. The series ended on such a bad note.

Keiko Agena (Layne) was on Private Practive last week, and the week before Christopher was on playing a firefighter.

Edward Hermann did 3-4 episodes of Greys Anatomy as an intern too.

Well I didn't know. I live in the forest, there is no cable here, we had just moved and didn't have DirecTV yet so we were watching tv via a rabbitears antennae on top of the television. We felt very lucky to be able to get Gilmore Girls in at all. It was snowy, fuzzy, blurry but it was Gilmore Girls. That and Lost were the only shows that we even attempted to watch.

So if there was advertising to the effect that the season was ending, I was not privy to it. We watched every episode, everything was going along normally, then all of a sudden, during the final commercial break in the next-to-last episode, they played a commercial saying "it's time to say goodbye" etc.

I knew that the season was just about up, not the series.

I called someone who did have cable and watched it as obsessively as did we, and they had no idea that it was ending either.

There was talk of a GG movie in a year or two but supposedly Alexis Bledel wasn't too keen on doing it. I think she's trying to distance herself from GG and expand her career. Not sure if she'll be able to do it though.

The ending was abrupt here too. Maybe a week's notice. They really didn't give people much time to absorb it!

Has anyone bought season 7 on dvd yet? I wonder if there are any good bonus features. I bet a clip of outtakes over the years would be hilarious!

WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH

So I am watching season 5 of GG, and I'm right around the episodes where Logan starts coming into the picture (I'm on the Richard & Emily's reconsiliation renewal of vows now). It just makes me so sad how they ended it. It didn't seem real to me. I wanted Rory & Logan together. Maybe not married, but not "If you don't want to comit to me I'm gone." It just seemed so out of charactor.

:

I want a movie where they get back togther. Life can be good then

There was actually a little blurb about Rory and Logan in TV Guide last week. They weren't supposed to end it the way it ended. When the "breaking up" storyline was written they were still going to do a season 8 and Logan was supposed to come back for part of season 8. But they filmed everything the way it was shown then season 8 didn't happen and it was just left that way. Pretty stinky..I always loved Logan too..I think they should've ended up together!

I miss GG so much! Just thinking of the theme song makes me feel all sappy and nostalgic!

I miss it too!! We have the first 6 seasons on dvd and are getting the 7th from netflicks. Mom sis and I used to only turn on the tv to watch 90210 then Dawson's Creek then Gilmore, it was my favorite because it was more funny and happy than drama filled! Great show

Just my 2 cents....
What channel and when, is northern exposure on? Maybe I'll give it a shot!

I miss them too! I've been getting old seasons from Netflix. I missed the last season, too. When they switched to the CW. Our DirectTV carried the WB, but not CW.
