I've been so inspired by you all. I've been coming to this forum increasingly in the past few weeks. We're getting ready to ttc #3, so I think I'm nesting in a way

Here are my pics of our living room/playroom and kitchen/dining room. We rent (student family housing) so we don't have many options for redecorating and there is still so much more I want to get rid of (toys, tv), but h is resistant. I'll have to work on that. The kids' room is ongoing since so much seems to get brought in on a regular basis. Having a smallish home (max.1000sqf), thankfully, makes it a necessity to keep our stuff to a minimum.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Is that just a tapestry in front of your entertainment center? That's a great idea! I was just going to go out and buy one with doors, but that looks much cooler!

It is absolutely beautiful! Color me jealous, I've never lived in student housing so nice.

Yes it's just a tapestry. My parents brought it back from Nepal and our entertainment cabinet used to have blah white doors that suddenly fell off one day and when we put the tapestray on, we were stunned how awesome it looked. We had almost decided to chuck the cabinet. It's amazing how simple redressing furniture can be sometimes.

Our student housing is reknown for it's liveability. We've been here for almost four years and I was just accepted into a PhD program for this fall, so we're happily staying put for another five years. Lots of people here actually go out of their way to stay as long as possible because it's so wonderful. Because all the units are essentially the exact same, it's really fun to visit our neighbours' homes and see just how different everybody decorates and arranges the rooms. Thanks for the compliment - it feels good to have feedback

I love your retro dining set and buffet! Your look is kind of "retro/vintage meets Ikea" and it works so well!

I feel so weird posting these as a noobie. I fear one of you will know me and say "HEY!! I've been to your house!" LOL
I LOVE the color on your dining room walls!

Hey Lilgreen ... are you at UBC by any chance? Reminds me of Melfa Court. I lived there when I was a kid.

Yes we are! Small world. We're on Yalta, just around the corner
post #253 of 1147
Then no kidding you want to stay there as long as you can!
It's a great place for families with kids.
Your place looks great. Brought back some warm memories, that familiar UBC floorplan...

I've taken a few pictures of our house. not of our bedroom, because its kind of ghetto (and not ghetto fab either) and i havent taken pics of the office/playroom yet, but you can still get an idea.

its not as nice as some because we are renters and we never got around to painting the walls in cool colors, which would probably help a LOT. as soon as i make the office all beautiful, i'll post pictures of it

I'm glad this thread is still going! I really like the branches in your living room, lohagrace. I have taken some 'before' pics of our nursery (aka the clothing and baby supply storage room) but I haven't finished the project yet. I hope to this week! Then I will finally have some pictures to post.

Keep them coming... they're so inspiring!
