Everyone's homes look so nice & clean! I need this inspiration so that I can finish (although it's gonna take awhile) decluttering our small townhome
post #342 of 1147
I was originally planning a 6 week major house declutter & clean session. Then I thought that was not enough time, so I moved it up to 8 weeks. Then I started and couldn't stop, so I did the whole house in less than 2 weeks!!! Luckily, my 17 month old loves to help me clean so he was perfectly happy helping mommy!

I donated a minivan full of household items - appliances, dishes, decorative items that we received for our wedding and were just sitting in boxes collecting dust. If we hadn't used it in 5 years, I doubt we'd use it anytime soon so we might as well let someone else use it. I put about 70% of DS's toys into storage, got rid of at least half of our clothes and kept on going! Then I freecycled boxes of books, movies and the vinyl flooring you can see in the basement picture. I'm so proud of how far it has come over the past 2 weeks! I should have taken before pictures because it really is amazing!

I could only do the living room, kitchen and bathroom since the bedroom is occupied and dd started fussing before I could get to the playroom. I'll try to get those tomorrow!
Your home looks clean to me. I just have to say how much I love the baby in the pictures!

Thanks! She wasn't too thrilled with me cutting short our cuddling session to take pictures of the house

I remembered to take pictures of the bedroom and playroom the next morning, here they are! Bedroom has no room for clutter since it's pretty much wall to wall bed, playroom, however, is a clutter magnet. I am always overwhelmed by the amount of toys even though I cull them several times a week. Which is getting harder as ds is old enough now to notice if things are missing.

Awesome! I'm still working on decluttering. I'm so inspired all over again.

Delaney, your pictures are amazing! Great job! Thanks so much for sharing, what an inspiration!

Delaney- where did you get the pretty green/brownish bed covering? Very pretty.

Thank you all for the inspiration.

Thanks everyone! Seriously, you should have seen it before! It is truly amazing! When I have my mind set on something, it gets done! Now it is so much easier to keep clean too! I made a deal with myself that I can't check my email until the house is cleaned, so first thing in the morning I get up and clean and it doesn't take long at all now. I love it!

catscharm - I just bought it last week at IKEA. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00080214 They have the decorative trim at the top, but we flipped it around so it's along the bottom instead. We love it! It's so soft and comfortable!

Wow, thanks mama! I didn't even know they had those at Ikea. You rock. Can't wait to do this in my place.

Beautiful homes, everyone! Mine is decluttered, but still has the 80's decor that we plan on updating one day. These are pictures we took last year when we had our house up for sale, but we decided to stay.

Very, very cute! I adore the colors on your walls. I like the living room, the kitchen, the playroom, I like it all.

So spacious and decluttered! I really need to get working on my own.

Thanks, Spring Flower! We really want to get hardwood floors in one day and update some other things, but for now we have to live with the pink, red and even blue carpet.

When I read '80s decor, I was expecting something other than what I saw when I clicked on your pictures! I don't think it's too '80s at all! Sure, there are some 1980s elements, but I've seen houses with overwhelming '80s decorating, and, worse, '70s decorating!

It's very bright, spacious, and airy. You have a lot to work with and I can see you've done a great job.

Me too! Actually think most of it looks quite modern!
