Wow, your bathroom is gorgeous! Love how it turned out. And I'm totally putting a chandelier in mine when we remodel. DH hates them and won't agree to one in any other room. Not that he knows one is going in there yet...LOL.

Love the purple. LOVE. I'm about to do a similar color in my guest room.

thanks!! i was sitting in Home Depot just looking around and i saw a display and that colour was on the display. surprisingly, when DH came back from whatever he was doing, he agreed that he liked it too!! it's SUCH a pretty colour.
the chandelier was a bit different. i had a much girlier pinkish one in mind but DH didn't like it. we compromised on this one. it's has a sophistication the other didn't.

Aw, thanks!

What purple is it? I've got 3 up on the wall right now and I think I've made a decision with VINTAGE GRAPE by Behr but I'm not 100% sure and I really like your walls.

Behr-Peruvian Violet
Another Behr purple i love is Heirloom Orchid. the dark stripes (there was a striped wall) in my old bedroom (we've since moved) were that colour. i plan to do the same thing in this house when our bedroom is renovated.

Thank you! I will check them out next time I go to Home Depot.

Just want to share my decluttered breakfast room. It's not perfect but it's better than it was. HERE

NICE!

I was thinking just this morning about how it would be so much easier to clear out our spaces if we could just do each others' -- someone else could clear off my problem space in about 20 seconds flat. Myself: I can't get past the wrapper to remind me to buy something (vs. just putting it on our list) or the magazine I want to give to a friend.

The first time I'm posting in this thread! Our house has been in progess (we bought a 1955 fixer a year ago and have been slooowly doing things ourselves) and the dust has finally settled.

Here is the Kitchen BEFORE when we moved in.

NOW:

Kitchen workspace and kitchen pantry photo

This is the first time I've had a clutter free kitchen...and it is smaller than our old place. I just let things go, which was easy to do during a move while pregnant. "Do I want to carry this to the new house? Donate pile!" lol

Yeah it looks great. I was proud of my decluttered breakfast room, until I saw your kitchen!

Makes me even more determined and hopeful that we will get this place renovated one day.

Hi all! I'm new to this thread, but I've been browsing for inspiration for a while. We bought our house 5 years ago, and we've been renovating it (slowly...). So far the living room is the only room that's officially "done", so I thought I'd post some pics of it.

Before, with our dorm room chic Sauder furniture! http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_cm49P41qLL...nown000315.jpg

During, from a different angle: http://prairiebox.blogspot.com/2005/...-pictures.html

Here is the only good "after" shot that I have, but there's now a mission-style table in front of the windows. Maybe someday I'll get some pictures on the wall! http://prairiebox.blogspot.com/2009/...ving-room.html

We're working on the upstairs now as well, but they're nowhere near organized and decluttered!!

diana: it looks great. love your blog btw. We had eggs for dinner last night and they looked like yours. I forgot that store bought eggs no longer look like that.....we've been buying CSA eggs for about 3-4 years.

Haven't been around here in a while! LOVE the kitchen and living room posted upthread!

I finally have a bit more to share. We've been in our house 14 mths and counting, doing all the reno work ourselves. It's slow at times but fun. Overall. DH and I are working on the family room and have been since last June. Remember us? We completely ripped out a wall of our house? Yeah. Good times. We're still working on the inside. Took a LONG break but getting back into it. Hoping to finish by Christmas!

Anywho, I've also been working on the upstairs, doing some temporary work to make things nice even though eventually we're going to rip out some walls to insulate. Because of that, I didn't want to put a lot of time or money into the projects so most of the work was done using what we had.

Our upstairs is divided into 4 rooms. Two 10x10's on the right, a 10x14 and 10x6 on the left.

Medium sized bedroom (future baby's room?)

The walk in closet 10x6' and with slanted ceiling way too small to use for much!
