Would this fabric work for longie type wool pants?

I'm so new to this sewing thing, but it's COOOOLD here and DD needs some warm pants. We're not CDing right now (we did and will again, just not for the moment for the place where we are), but I have some wool pants from Holden's Landing that I love. I don't have the cash to pony up for her to sew them for me though and I think I can do it or else my mom will be able to help me.

Anyway, here goes:

If this isn't the right stuff, can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

That looks like a fine wool fabric for making suits as it says. I have made trousers for myself from a similar fabric but it isn't soft and snuggly or particularly warm.

If you are looking for cheap warmth you could just us a fleece - it's easy to sew if you use a long zig zag stitch (so you can see where you have sewn if you need to unpick it!) and it doesn't need hemming as it won't ravel.

For quick wool trousers you could cut the sleeves off a wool sweater and sew them up like this

If I'm not mistaken, tricotine is a tricot, which is like an interlock, **I think**

So, I say get 2 yards of it, felt it up, and make a pair of pants and give it a try. It's 97% wool and 3% lycra, which is what the natural interlock I have here is....

Browsing their wool listings, it looks like all of it is "suitable for suits, trousers, etc"

I googled about and found this

"TRICOTINE The name implies a knit fabric, but it is in fact a twill-weave dress fabric woven as double twill, giving a pair of diagonal lines on the right side."
http://www.resil.com/t.htm

It is very cheap for this kind of fabric and I'm tempted to buy some for trousers for myself even with the additional charge for international postage but I don't think it is what you are looking for.

What you need is a wool interlock as FillingMyQuiver says.
