Hi,
I've been letting my first batch of kombucha for the past 7 seven days. I just checked on it and there is a whitish film on the top. I'm using a pyrex bowl by the way. Is this film normal?

That's probably your new scoby, and if so then it hasn't had long enough to form a thick scoby. (Which is normal, considering the cooler fall weather and how it's only been brewing for 7 days.) Let it go another 7 days and see what you think
