We had an amazing birth. At 9:30 in the morning I took my daughter to dance class. I was having contractions every 20 minutes. The other mothers in the waiting room were freaking out that I wasn't at the hospital already. At 10:45 the contractions were every 15 minutes. I was at my midwife's office. She said, "If I break your waters the baby will be here now. If I don't, you'll still have this baby before sunset tonight."
All of a sudden the contractions were 7 minutes apart. My daughter was dancing around with her leotard on in the office. I called my husband and my friend to meet me at the midwives' office. At 11:46 my husband got there, took us all to the hospital. We ran into the room (after my husband parked in the farthest parking spot and I literally ran down 4 flights of stairs in the parking garage and walked a 1/4 mile to labor and delivery at 12:01. Contractions 2 minutes apart! The minute I took off my clothes, the midwife wanted to examine me. I said, "No time!" My water broke and I gave birth to Rebecca Juliet at 12:39. I had on my birth bead necklace from all of you and felt you there with me. (Hopefully Ill get to post pictures of me wearing it in the delivery room!)
It was amazing! A great birth. I felt like a million bucks after. The whole family is doing great and Laila (my big girl!) is doing a wonderful job as a sister.
My husband called my grandparents from the delivery room (my grandmother is in hospice) to let them know. It was beautiful.
