I was irritated

At the boys preschool the teachers bring the kids to the car but then the parents have to buckle them in for liability reasons. When I went to get the boys today one of the teachers said

" Since you're slower which is understandable, could you pull over to the side? from now on "

Umm ok I was flabergasted! I didn't know what to say. I said ok but then after loading the kids I'd have to wait to get back in line to leave.
I'm pregnant not disabled.

So I called the school and told them that I was offended. That nobody's ever been waiting for me. The admin person said that on Tuesday a couple people were (well I was talking to the teacher). I thought what mom wouldn't understand?

She said they just didn't want me to feel like I had to rush.

Grrrr that's not what the teacher said and why were they talking about me? I told her they could have just asked me to be a little faster but she said they didn't want me to feel like I had to rush.

I'm still a little peeved would you be?

Yes, that would have made me mad. I can't believe another parent complained that you were going slow. I have a good friend who takes way longer than me to get her kids buckled but would I complain? No, cause she is doing things the way she needs to. Not a big deal.

People just like to have something to *itch about.

I would not have moved my car, and I would have taken my own darn sweet time. That's just the way I am

I can't believe she said that to you! I would be mad too.

I wouldn't have had nice things to say afterwards if someone had informed me that someone complained because I was talking to the teacher and then the teacher took it upon themselves to turn the situation into a pregnancy thing. That teacher lied to you! I can't believe the cojones on some people!

Me too. After the slow comment, I would have been tempted to have gotten out and stretched, picked some litter up from the ground, snuggled my kid hello, waved to some friends.... then buckled him in.

Of course.... I'm a little obnoxious sometimes.

There is a mother at p/u at dd school that really is. is. so. slow. She's still buckling herself and there's a line behind her waaaay long. Noone ever says anything to her I don't think.
People are just sooo rushy. How frustrating they spoke about you and blamed your 'medical state' .
I forgot some things to PTO last night and everyone blamed the pregnancy. Yah... so thats probably true but... whatever.
