Names? Have you decided yet?

We had our girl name picked out before we even tried to conceive 2 years ago!

Her name will be Anisa and we even have a name picked out for if we have another girl (Mariam).

Anyone else have any names for their little ones?

Our girls name was Marilyn Amelia.

Our boy will be Rehan Ali

I've had a girl's name picked out even before I knew I wanted kids! Well, the first name at least. I picked the middle name at what about 10 weeks pregnant. Boy's name is taking some time, I've got a first name and a possible middle, but not really settled on it. Looking to not have his middle name be a vowel, because there are too many words that would come of it... Weird enough, the gal would be ok.

Girl: Senara Elena
Boy: Hektor Morgan?? Not sure, don't know what else I'd put here. But I'm not sure Morgan goes with Hektor....

Ooh, Greeneyes0506, Rehan is a cool sounding name! What's the origin, may I ask?

isra1986 I like the name Anisa, (prounouned Ah-nee-sah?). Very lovely!

I love hearing people's name combinations!

The Bean will be Alexander Francis - Alexander because we like it and Francis aftr my paternal grandfather. We are going to wait 'til he gets here to decide if he's going to be an Alex or a Xander for short. If the ultrasound and the heavy preponderance towards boys in my husband's family is wrong, then the Bean will be Moira Emilie - Moira because I like it (although the husband is having some second thoughts) and Emilie because it's a family name and my paternal grandmother's name.

My better half suggested the perfect boy's name about two days after I POAS - but one of my sisters in law lurks here, and I love her and the rest of the family I married into SO MUCH that I refuse to spoil the surprise.

The girl's name, we decided on Madeleine, and decided on Leigh for a middle name the night before we found out we were cooking a boy baby

nope. it was so hard last time we're kind of avoiding it this time. i love to read everyone's ideas.

i'm so finicky that i think i finally just have to pick one and go with it even though i have second thoughts.

we sorta like talia for a girl and maybe enzo for a boy...

not finding out until the very end what it's going to be so that will make it a little more exciting.

Its a Pakistani name (DH is Pakistani). Its pronounced Ray-Haan. We still don't know if we should spell it Rehan or Reyhan

we are working on names right now...the 5 we're trying to decide between are Austin, Lucas, Caden, Levi, and Elias. My favorites on the list are probably Levi and Elias but Austin would really fit with our daughter's name (it's a city name and it's derived from Augustine, which was a saint name, not that we're Catholic)

Since I found out I'm having a girl not a boy I was able to go back to the girls names we settled on early and were so easy to come up with.
Beatrix Gabrielle or Marilla Gabrielle.

Beatrix for Beatrix Potter and Marilla from Anne of Green Gables, but her daughter not her mother, in the last book Rilla of Ingleside, Rilla's whole name is Marilla and she's called Rilla, except when her brother calls her My Rilla, anyhow I loved the whole story and that's why I want it.
However DH prefers Beatrix which is fine. We'll call her Trixie, because I"m already Dea (which ryhmes with pea) and we can't have a Dea and a Bea! Although in full form Dea in my name is not dee, it's de-uh and in Beatrix it will be Be-uh-trix
(does that make sense?)

And Gabrielle is my step mom whom I love to the ends of the earth and is more of a parent to me than my own father. I've known since i was 12 I wanted to name my 1st baby after her.

Yeah, thats how it is pronounced. It is DH's mom's name. She has 22 grandchildren and this is the only one named after her, she is excited.

My baby told me her first name before I even started TTC: It's Persephone. Please, Nature, don't change your dd's name now that you know! Everybody I know offline thinks it's an unusual name, it's just on MDC that it's incredibly popular!

I'd originally wanted to use Maeve for a middle name, since all of my kids' middle names start with "M", but Sephie had other ideas and is pretty adamant about Siobhan, which is pretty and I love it but it is esssentially a variation on her older sister's name, Jeanita, so I would not have chosen it if it had been up to me which it wasn't.

Of course I'm not 100% sure she's a girl, so I need boys names too.

I loved the initials "P.S." under the circumstances, since Sephie is probably my last child and will be sixteen years younger than my second-youngest, so after playing with those initials for awhile I came up with Pax Sequoia for a boy, which sort of alludes to "Pax Romana" and honours my adopted hometown here in Northern California behind the redwood curtain. However, when someone told me that Angelina Jolie had used the name Pax, it kind of spoiled it for me.

I couldn't come up with another "PS" name I liked, but ds's and my current favourite is "Terran Sage", which certainly suits this wise earthling who is stubborn, opinionated, determined, and exactly what the world needs today, although it terrifies me to think about trying to raise this spirit in a male body.

noordinaryspider, I have seen this name mentioned often and have no idea how it is spelled or what origin it has:..... Can you enlighten me?? How is Persephone pronounced and what is the origin??
NoOrdinarySpider - those are such cool names - I too love Persephone and all the story behind her and Terran Sage as a boy's name is just as wonderful.

newmommy27- GREAT name! It's my dd's name too!
We've decided on Emma Hope for a girl and are CLUELESS for a boy. I like Austin, Aiden, and Graham. But none of those REALLY sticks like when we decided on the girl names.

For a girl, it'll will either be Leah Diane or Meredith Diane (we have to see what she "looks" like, according to DH).

For a boy, we just agreed on the name Henry Norman. Our alternate so far is Paul (Middle name as yet unknown).

I wish DH wasn't so set on the kid "looking" like his/her name. It'd be so much easier to pick out one name for each gender, not three

Persephone is Greek, and it's pronounced purse-eff-anie (like Stephanie, but Purse-eff first!). Was Perspephone Circe's daughter who was married to Hades? She's the reason we have seasons, according to Greek legend.

I know someone named Cassiopoeia!

* * *
We had names we liked pre-pregnancy that were totally scrapped once we got pregnant.

For a girl, we know her first name will be Robin. Not sure about middle name, but probably Christine after my sister.

For a boy, we can't agree. I came up with the name Holden this week and I really like it, but I'm afraid DH will hate it, so I haven't talked to him about it yet. I think it would be Holden Leigh (Leigh is my sis's middle name!). Even though we'd both love a little girl, I still have a feeling it's probably a boy, so I want a good boy name going! What do you guys think? Our last name is like Johnson, syllabically.

We really need to sit down and have a serious name discussion...we are so lazy this time around!

My DH at first just wanted to wait until the baby was born to come up with a name. No, sweetie, I can't do it that way, sorry. This kid will end up unnamed. :

I really like Henry! DH doesn't though
