Hi Ladies! Newbie here
Has anyone here used Midwest?
I'll be using Midwest sperm bank sometime next week. I was wondering what your counts were and how you timed your insemination?

Thanks so much!!

I did - we did vaginal insemination at home, so we didn't have a post-thaw count. We had no problems with Midwest though, they were very good to us! We bought 4 samples, planning to do 2 at a time at 12 and 24hrs after OPK+. We only thawed one for the first insem though, and it felt like so much fluid that we ended up doing 4 insems. I got my OPK+ at about 2pm, and we did one late that night (~10pm), and three the next day (8am, noon, 10pm). I was concerned about using IUI sperm for a vaginal insemination, and I worried that I insemmed too early (my temp didn't rise right away). However, 10 days later I got a BFP. It worked on the first try!

If it hadn't, we were going to go down to 2 samples for the next month.

We love MSB. We got pregnant at home on the third try (but our timing was way off on the second try) using two vials 24 hours apart.

Good luck!!

I did my inseminations 4 and 5 days ago, not sure of what day I O'd though. I was sick and had a fever around O-day so I couldn't temp.

My 16-month-old son came to us courtesy of Midwest, so I'm a BIG fan!

We did it at the doctors, and though I don't remember the count, they always showed it to us on the microscope and said it looked really good...

We got pregnant on the fourth try, one vial a month, basically just getting the timing right...

Say, anyone using donor #198?????? The "very good-looking" Puerto Rican? If so, congratulations, cuz he makes some pretty babies!

I looked for that donor, but it looks like he's no longer there.

Nope, ours was #038, the blue eyed, brown-haired really tall guy. Don't know what his kids'll look like yet though.

wow - that's a lot of babies for one donor! Go him!

I have to admit, we were a bit sad when we realized our donor wasn't available any more... But we likely weren't making more babies anyway... ::::sniff:::::

I agree, especially since they all got pregnant using him on their first try like you did.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Midwest Sperm Bank is really supportive though. We really liked using them.
