Well, first time around, I got pregnant on cycle number 3. I then had a miscarriage at 10 weeks back in November. This time, I got pregnant on cycle number one. We only used one vial each cycle and did in-office IUIs.

Hello all. I am just getting in contact with midwest and am in the milwaukee area. I'm wondering if anyone here knows a doc or midwife who will sign off on home insems?

As far as counts go, under 10M is not so good, 10-20M is OK, over 50M is terrific. I got pg and m/c with fairfax donor (1913) with a whopping 80M count. Their prices are too high, so I am looking into MWSB...

wow, I never had a count like that with Fairfax. I used donor 1914 there. Donor 1913 has A LOT of babies. Midwest donors have a awesome counts as well. Good Luck!!

Sorry, I have no idea. Maybe make an appointment for a checkup with an OB and ask for him/her to sign.

Donor 268 MWSB

Anyone using donor 268? I've used him for two IUI's with no success. I don't want to use the super donors 44 or 9. Was thinking about switching to donor 188?

I wouldn't swtich to donor 188, there have been a lot of women who have used him and have not had any success and there are no children from donor 188 on the donor sibling registry. There is a thread on donor 188 on the midwest sperm bank board at the babycenter.

Donor 38

We used Donor 38 and we got our BFP on the first try... Our doc stated this donor was awesome and this donor rocked and he was all over the place.

Using 216

I am planning on using 216 this July/August and will do up to 3 IUIs with him. I have talked to a few other women on another board that have children born from this donor and a couple that are pregnant from his donations. Joanne says that he is one of her best (fertile) donors. I hope he is for me! Anyways, best wishes for anyone who is cycling this summer. I hope for many BFPs!

P.S. I used 188 for IUI twice but both cycles ended in a BFN. I haven't heard about anyone get pregnant with him yet so decided to switch donors.

Help

I have been having a lot of trouble getting a hold of Joanne. She doesn't return emails very promptly and keeps telling me that she will call me, but never does. We have now missed out July ovulation date and I am beginning to get concerned that we are going to miss our August one too. Any suggestions? Getting quite frustrated

tjnmegan, we are currently using MWSB and not having too much trouble getting a hold of someone... i mean, i have had trouble getting in touch with her now and again but i just keep emailing and calling at all times of day. we had email correspondence the last day or so and i spoke with vicky at the office and she was talking to joanne in the background...
have you spoke to her at all yet? i'd recommend just calling until you get her. i also sent emails explicitly explaining our game plan for when we needed to receive the tank of swimmers and when we were going to be inseminating. good luck!

everybody: is anyone using MWSB at this time? anyone know about donor 232? any thing else to say about the donors there?

tjnmegan- I'm sorry your having so much trouble!! She always answers when I call or email her. Hvae you tried calling her in the morning or about an hour before they close?

I've been emailing her for a couple months and only had a couple times I would email her again because I didn't get a repsonse. I found out she didn't get my email. She ended up having me call her. I called close to closing time and she talked to me until I was confortable with all the info. Don't get too upset. It's nothing personal. She's just a very busy lady.

HI. We've been "shopping around" for a bank & came across Midwest. They seem great. Do you have to start an account before you can view the short profiles or am I missing something? If you used them, were you comfortable w/ the amount of family history there was? Do you need to get a Dr. to sign off on the AI's at home?

Any info would be GREAT!

Amy, midwest is great! you can print off the form for a doc to sign off of their website. you do have to have it signed before they will ship to your home. as far as profiles... did you find what's available online?? you can also email joanne and she will email you that months list of available donors. you request long profiles by asking her as well. she sent the first ones to me in the mail, but i see that as a waste of paper so i requested they be emailed. i have several saved to my desktop that i would be happy to email you if you so choose. 216, 307, 097, 232. i thought that the family/personal info was sufficient.

it's a group of gals using midwest... i have found it extremely helpful to be in touch with them. the group is private though, but i had no trouble becoming a member of the group.

Anyone have recent success.

I used 197 last month. His counts were 24 and 33 mill. i think his motility was around 60 percent.

I was thinking of trying 038 next month since he seems to have lots of success.

Anyone have anyluck with anyone from midwest lately.

I did get ahold of her and we are trying for the first time next week. Holy crap...this is kinda scary Just kidding! We are using donor 188. There has been a lot of talk on several different forums that this donor is not successful. Joanne assured me that he has had a lot of success and there are couple starting to use him for their second children. I am very excited to start trying. Wish us lucK!!!
