got to be a guinea-mom today

My midwife called this morning to tell me that she's teaching a midwifery assistance class and to ask if I would be willing to come in today so they could practice listening to a baby's heart, measuring, and feeling baby for position as well as see how to hook someone up for a non-stress test.
It was super fun. The women in the class were all very cool and really respectful to me and my baby (asking permission every time they tried something new, thanking the baby, etc.). I'm 3 days past my due date now and one of the students is also an acupuncturist and offered to do some labor-encouraging acupuncture while I was there. I had never tried acupuncture before so that was a fun new experience.
All in all it was a great distraction from waiting waiting waiting for this baby.

I'd be guinea-mom too especially for acupuncture!

cool! I had a student do the checks at my last visit and it was really fun (although I wanted to help her - sometimes she was waaaay off doing things like finding the HB).
