Arghhh/troll thread

I temporarily removed the thread until I can get feedback from Cynthia on what to do with it. It isn't about vaccinating so it doesn't belong here, but honestly, I can't see it making sense anywhere else since it barely makes sense here. I don't feel right leaving it since other forums aren't allowed those type of cryptic inside-joke chatty threads, kwim?

I will say that if you have concerns about someone in Vax being a troll, let myself, another mod, or Cynthia know, and we will try to handle it.

please laralou...

...bring back the thread. I was one of I am sure many who benefitted from Trabot's links. The most important issue of my son's recent encounter with measles was NOT doing anything to lower his fever. My wife got VERY nervous as the fever climbed to 103.4. I didn't think that we had anything to be concerned with until about 105. Trabot posted a link to a great post of Hilary's that has numerous quotes addressing the importance of fever in the body's immune response, and even the danger of trying to lower it artificially---complications from opportunistic infections. My wife was very impressed by what she read.

As far as my assimilation of information, and strengthening of my conviction, in relation to what the thread was about, I am always curious of what those in the orthodox medical world have to say.The absence of detail in their opinions completely undermines their argument.

Oh, this would be very helpful to me. This past week Kailey had a fever of 100.4 and the center where I work was getting concerned.

I did know a fever is our body's way of fighting infection, but didn't have any more information to share with them. It is one of their policies that children must go home with a temp of 100 degrees or higher.

I agree vaccines are about power and money. But I think it is one of those things that the mass population will never believe

well, I thought the thread would not last too long...but ..it was much fun, wasn't it?

Poor cynthia, I don't even know if she will be able to read all the encryptograms.... she'll need the Cliff Notes version to wade through it.

I must say that the posting I had with all the "rings on the tree"...or now that we're talking all out in the open... the posting had a bunch of threads where trolls have come to this board to "school us" was pretty interesting. I enjoyed re-reading them and I too thought there was a lot there that was enlightening.

Here is the tylenol-fever thread again. Please note that it has been archived, so it does exist here all the time.

you can figure out for yourself why I put it in the posting.

it is so nice being in the forum that attracts trolls. Makes me feel popular... in vax, we're all the high school prom queens. even you, Insider and Good Papa!

I also enjoyed reading all the back issues of troll visits! Several were before I joined the club.

Gyr was especially interesting and I think potentially useful. She highlighted some of the weak points in the anti-vax arguments (yes, there are some weak points). We need to avoid using arguments that are too easily countered...

Geez, I'm clueless.:
Was someone being argumentative or giving false data or ?

T the fever issue...wow, ds, 8 mos, had up to 106 for 3 nights. Our dr said he was fine based on his attitude. Even said that fever burns out things like cancer cells. This past issue of Mothering has an awesome article on why illness is good for kids.

I am pretty sure that I answered why I removed it in the initial post in this thread.

If you have a complaint about my removal of the thread, you can pm myself or Cynthia.

It's probably mostly my fault the thread took a turn left. I started talking about birds, and got giggly, and well, you know the rest.

Here's my humble apology. So sorry.

P.S. I've felt off kilter for 2 days now.

We appreciate and take serious any concerns of trollish or otherwise adversarial or seemingly insincere new members posting out of the blue with what appears to be an agenda. But let's do it as we always do - assume the best of everyone and do what we do best as a community - share info, debate civily, and offer sincere advice. We will keep an eye out for others whose intentions are suspect and will look into issues any of you feel are concerning. So feel free to report posts that seem to be agenda-based and not sincere community-minded contributions to the discussion. But let's refrain from pointing fingers at people's intentions and identities in the board discussions.

Peace
Over....and out.
