Feeling the pinch with DD

I have a 3yo DD and we've been having a rough time lately, I'm tired and trying to get stuff done, and she's 3. A tough combo, as I'm sure you know.

Yesterday on the way to the mw's office I decided that I really need to slow down and have some quality time with her, just enjoy the fact that there is just the two of us at home during the days.

Now of course it looks like I'm going to have two kids on Sunday so I only have one day to do mellow fun stuff with DD. I am feeling regretful that I squandered our chance at quality time.

Aw, try not to feel too bad, mama. I have a three year old too, and we have had some really trying days lately. I don't know if it is that she knows her life is about to change, or it is just a normal developmental phase she is going through, but she has been pretty difficult. Sometimes it wears me out so much that about all I can do is sit and stare at the walls, and to heck with anything I had planned for the two of us.

What I try to remember is that just because there will be another child in the house does not mean we can never have quality one on one time again. I am sure dh will want one on one time with Ellen, just like he had with Sofie, and Sofie and I can go do our thing. No, it may not be the same as when it was just us all the time, but it will still be good.
