What color is the mucous plug? I am just wondering what to look for!! I never had anything happen with DS, so I have NO idea! *Something* is happening down there, but I am trying to decide if it is plug or not.

TIA

I lost mine yesterday. The first 'glop' was clear to pale yellow. The second 'glop' was light brown.

When I lost mine with DD it seemed thick and white with a few tinges of brown blood in it.

Now I've been losing a little since yesterday and whats shocking me and making me doubt myself is that it's perfectly clear this time and no blood... it was in between clear and opaque last time.

Okay, so they may all be different? I have been losing something very thickish and it is white. It isn't like any other stuff I have had so far, so that is what makes me think it was the plug.

we'll see if we get more responses, but yeah I think it's different for each mama and even from one pregnancy to the next.

With DD mine was like thick bloodstreaked snot. And it was at night, I just felt a wierd sensation when I wiped so I turned on the light to look at the tp.

First dd lost it and it was a big glob with brown and red streaks but mostly white.

This one has been tiny bits of white with a little yellow glob no and again.

Mine was clear this time but blood tinged and yellowish the first time.

I lost mine all at once with dd - it looked like a big glob of reddish jello.

Sorry if that turns anyone off jello for awhile. :

Thanks Ladies! I am pretty sure that is what it is then. I have had some larger "globs" and some are yellowish. Sorry to be gross! It is so nice to have you all here though, it has meant so much to me.

Mine has come out in various colours. The first bit was pale brownish-pink and opaque, then white, and finally clear and gelatinous (not like regular clear CM but really jelly-like ~ it was so weird)

Hooray for dilating. Can I (should I) still use EPO if I am dilating? -I mean vaginally!!

When do you usually lose your mucus plug? I never experienced it with my first two pg i.e. delivered at 38.2 and 37 weeks? Thanks.

Just wanted to say that I know Quinn, who posted that pic of her mucus plug. Lovely home birth story too: http://www.ambiguous.org/quinn/birth/

Her daughter is now 4.
