I don't understand. What is meant by a block of time? How is this different than nursing using only only one breast a feeding? Where did the term block feeding come from?

Block refers to a block of time. For example, all feedings from 2-4pm would be on the right. all feedings from 4-6pm would be on the left. Etc.

Why would you want to do this? Does anyone know who introduced block feeding?

In moms with oversupply problems it helps to stabilize supply.

I did it becuase my baby was vomiting watery looking liquid (foremilk) in huge quantities all over everything and her poo was green-ish, very liquid and fizzy.

She also made a lot of clicking, gulping and choking sounds as she fed and having fed 3 children previously I knew that something wasn't right.

I searched for over actve let down on Kellymom, found block feeding tried it and it solved our problems.
