Dh's coworkers

Dh told me his coworkers put together a birth betting pool for us, $5 bids, 2 day maximum. Dh said that practically everyone has put a bid in (which is kind of creepy because I don't know everyone he works with.) I went on Friday to pick dh up from work (we share a car and I needed it for Emily's Gymboree classes.) EVERYONE was asking when I was going to have the baby yet! I was so ready to sass everyone by pulling out a calendar and being like, "Well, you know, how about this day?" but I decided against it. There's one guy that dh works with that's super annoying (I don't like him much to begin with) and he came over and said, "Do you need some help getting that baby outta you? I have a surefire way of getting that baby out, just let me know, it'll be here in a day tops!" The way he said it made me wonder if he was thinking dh wasn't capable of dtd or something, and made me a little uncomfortable. I just gave him a look and he backed off (I didn't want to say anything in case that's not what he meant.) All the ladies with babies were telling me to try some different remedy, one said cod liver oil, but that made her poop (I didn't want to correct her, I just said I wouldn't be going that route.) Another just said, "Have you tried that oil?" I'm thinking, "Borage? EPO? Castor? Olive? Safflower?" I just said, "Well, we'd talked about it but dh doesn't want to do anything like that until after my due date."

I don't mind the people that ask how I'm feeling, or but the rest of them are getting pretty annoying! If baby doesn't arrive by next Friday, I think I'm just going to wait in the car for dh to come out, have him blame my back or hips or something.

(One of his coworkers is going to watch dd for us this week so we can go on a date night. I'm really excited and hope the baby doesn't come before then! I'm hoping he can convince her to watch Emily tomorrow instead of Thursday because I don't want to miss out on this chance! That coworker is one of the few that I can stand, she asks how I'm feeling, if there's anything she can do to help, plays with Emily while I'm waiting for dh to finish up. She may be single with no kids, but she has a better clue of what to do than most of the people with kids!)

Ugh, that is annoying. I hope you get your date night, too.

Ew! Sorry that happened. What is wrong with people? I have a neighbor (we live in condos) who always says "are you ready to pop yet?" WTF? I could just punch him. He doesn't know better so I laugh and carry on, but geesh!

Wow, that was rude. But the nice coworker has some good karma heading her way!

I hope so, I really like her (even if she was the one that spilled the beans about the sex of the baby, lol.) Poor thing has been through the wringer, her boyfriend is deployed and she's good friends with a male officer. They go out to lunch sometimes and one of the reservists in the unit spread a rumor that she's slept with 4 of the full timers, including the officer she goes to lunch with. The rumors have gotten so bad that the commander has said that they're limited to lunch once a week to keep them from getting worse! They know who's doing it (a female reservist) and they haven't done anything to discipline her, even though rumors like these can ruin marriages!

The people in the unit have been through a lot lately. One of the reservists had to take his baby off of life support on September 28th. The baby was born with a tumor and had a stroke, lost all brain activity, he was only 6 weeks old. The unit went when they pulled the plug (dh didn't go and the commander understood why he didn't want to go, luckily) but everyone was depressed that day, so dh had me bring Emily in to try to cheer people up (to work, not the hospital!) I guess maybe they're just excited about the baby but it's so dang annoying sometimes!
