Wow, this was resurrected

Id be up for a discussion. I love reading horror in October. Im not reading anything right now but am looking for some ideas.

I'd be up for it, too - preferably not old Stephen King because I've pretty much read all of those. Did you ever read The House of Leaves? That one sounded good.

I read House of Leaves. I REALLY liked it (but I will admit to skimming parts of it).

These are the horror books I have been eyeing recently. I haven't read them yet, but have heard good things:

Haunted Lily: The Nightmare Ball by Sidney Fox

A Good and Happy Child by Justin Evans

The Woman in Black by Susan Hill

I am open to suggestions though!

Of these three - my pick would be The Woman in Black.

I'm in the middle of a novel right now, but I'd probably be ready to start a new one in another week.

That sounds good to me! I have a couple to finish up and get back to the library, so sometime next week or so works. Anyone else?

I went to Barnes and Noble today, but they didn't have the book. I'll try the library and Borders in the next couple of days. I plan on starting it Wednesday or Thursday (probably Thursday) if I can get my hands on it.

My library doesn't have it, but I'll pick up a copy tomorrow or Weds. Sounds good!

Well - I've checked with B&N, Borders, and the two major libraries here - and none of them have it. I could order it, but it'll take at least a week. I'm willing to order it, but thought I'd check and see if you wanted to try another one first.

I happen to have the Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson checked out right now. I haven't started it yet. I know most people have read it, but we can give that a try if you haven't!

Other than that, I am up for anything. What else sounds good?

I haven't read it! Let me see if I can get my hands on it tomorrow. It looks like I'll be able to. I've heard of it, and it is one I would like to read.

I have one reserved to pick up tomorrow, so I'll be starting it probably as soon as I pick it up!!!

I'm in -- I've already read it, but I think it might the single finest horror novel ever written and I'm happy to reread it any time!
