waking every hour... ughhhh

The last four nites DD has been waking every hour at night- sometimes more then once in an hour. She never has been a great sleeper, but jeez!! She has always been a two-three hour sleeper, with the exception of one week before she started to teeth with her two top front teeth- she was sleeping 4-6 hour stretches that week! (WOW)
Anyway, in comes the top teeth, and it went back to normal. One of the top teeth came in, and after that her sleep changed to the current predicament. The wierd thing is that she is displaying less teething pain. So that confuses me. :
When she wakes up during the night (we co-sleep) i nurse her laying down. She nurses for only a few minutes, then drifts back to sleep. Sometimes i try to put in a paci, but she usually takes it out. (ugh). She starts to roll back and forth from side to side after about 45 minutes of sleep, and then wakes up. If i don't get to her before she is almost awake she will start to cry out a bit, but it doesn't sound like pain cries to me. :
She does have some gas in the mornings, which wakes her up for good bw 5 and 6am. (That and the sunlight.)
I am cutting out all dairy (again) from my diet, and cutting way back on sugar and wheat (which i really don't eat much of anyway).

During the day she naps the same as before.

Any ideas wise mommas and pappas?
Thanks in advance!

I'm right there w/you Baby! Feeling the pain

Our prob. is that ds has learned to crawl/cruise and his brain must practice that in his sleep.

Advice? Endure...
Or...ask dh to take over some of the joy.

How old is your babe busymommy?
DH takes her the first hour of the day, while i pretend that i am not going insane from sleep deprivation.
During the night he is useless : in that she only wants me.

8.5 mos.

It just seems that every time I start to get cocky, a new stage comes along. Teething, new developmental stage, a cold, etc.

Well, eventually, we'll nightwean by having dh sleep w/him. So, sometimes, I'll wake him up around 3am and say YOUR TURN!!!!! And, ds is actually learning to snuggle him to sleep.

Mornings are our worst b/c then toddler climbs in w/us and they're both playing and I feel so crummy I just want to die.

Cheers

Yeah, that is exactly how i feel. Except that the stages come so fast that there is barely an re-coup time in bw.

My DH tries to do snuggle w/ her, but doesn't have the mama touch yet.

Mona I feel for you. THat feeling of having been hit by a truck in the morning is the worst. Sometimes I lie there in denial that my DS is actually awake for the day at 6am!

I have really found a serious connection between dairy in my diet and DS's frequent wakings. THis past week I got cocky and thought he could handle me eating some ice cream...well, I paid hard for it, nursing every 45min from midnight on. He wakes up acting like he's in pain, crying instead of just snuggling up to me to nurse. Just a suggestion to look carefully at your diet and your baby's reactions. It's working at our house!
