I've been hanging out in both Sept and Oct because my edd was Oct 3, but sure enough, I have another September babe.
My 2nd DS was born 9/5/04, and Judah Samuel came 9/27/07.
I was in "semi-active" labor for about 23 hours before my body made the huge leap to precipitous labor. I was in the birth pool in what felt like transition when my water broke and my MW assessed me to be 6cm. A minute or two later, my body was pushing and I was trying not to freak out! (Perhaps unsuccessfully!
) My MW coached me to breathe through the ctxs and not add to the pushing, which I finally got the hang of. 18 minutes after my water broke, I caught my own son! My two big boys missed the birth because we were sure it would be several more hours. They were out with Grandma buying me flowers, and Grandma left her cell phone at home - but even if she hadn't, they almost certainly wouldn't have made it. The assistant midwife walked in a minute or two after the birth, as well! It was super super super intense and very hard, but really pretty funny in retrospect! I think it was easier in the long run than my last birth, but it was SO intense! I was thrilled to get to really feel him moving down and out, though. Amazing!
