Mucous plug

It's really common to lose them early, right? Or at least relatively common? I've heard they can regrow? Because I just lost mine, or at least a part of mine (pretty darn sure) and last time I didn't lose it until a few days before labor. I'm hoping this isn't a repeat performance. I'm definitely far from viable.

I would take it easy today and call your midwife/Dr. just to be sure.

Are you sure that's what it was? I'm having a lot more mucous in general.

I'd still check with your care provider just in case.

I'm getting checked in about two hours. I've also been having some other signs of pre-labor but it could also all be chalked up to normal pregnancy woes... but coming together, it's a LOT like before I went into labor with DS. Cross your fingers for me please...

Well the good vibes seem to have helped! I'm not dilating but was on the thin side but they say that since this isn't my first pregnancy it might just be normal for me. To be on the safe side they're going to check again in a few days to see if I'm thinning anymore, but it probably seems to have been a false alarm. Now I get to take it easy for a few days. That's not half bad.

They also said I'm "measuring perfectly" for my EDD, which is THEIR EDD, not mine. Mine (and I'm convinced I'm right) is about a week earlier than theirs. Ah well. I'm also pretty sure I have an anterior placenta as they can NEVER find the heartbeat and I'm only feeling movements on my lower left side of the abdomen, and that's where they always end up eventually finding the heartbeat. It's always very muffled on the right side/front. Plus I'm bigger on the right/front so my stomach looks quite lopsided. I'm not 100% sure if that's a sign of anterior placentas but that's my bet. Oh well, anterior is better than previa, right?

i'm happy to hear everything is ok mama!

and yes, the mucous plug can "regrow". i seem to lose part of mine weekly (i check my cervix) and it always replenishes itself. no biggie.
