Jeez, maybe my sil is pregnant too!

I posted in my blog about how my deaf fil called to ask if I'm still pregnant and because he's deaf I had to yell, "YES I'M STILL PREGNANT!" and my sil emailed me and said, "He's NOT deaf; he's hard of hearing. I know you're uncomfortable but this was not a nice blog."

Okay, duly noted that he's not deaf but the point is that I had to yell, "YES I'M STILL PREGNANT," and I don't even want to whisper it.

I have a brother, father, and cousin who ALL have some hearing loss and some certainly more than others. I say they're deaf. THEY say they're deaf.

I think your sil is just nitpicking.

Your SIL is just nitpicking. For chrissakes, I work with the elderly and they all say they're deaf all the time. None of them are technically fully deaf, but then, I have a lot of residents who can still "see" who are legally blind. I don't think there IS a "legally deaf" but there should be. Then you could make your SIL stuff it.

She needs to back off the pregnant woman! My father says he's blind, even though he CAN see some (not enough obviously, and he is legally blind). Being deaf doesn't mean total hearing loss, there are varying degrees. Oh well, blow her off. She should know better than to mess with you at this point!
