AF didn't return until I was 12 mo PP with DD (due to BF) and this time I'm hoping it is the same.

We are already talking about baby #3. We will wait until baby #2 is about 2 to TTC, though. Who knows when we will get #3 though, since we don't use birthcontrol. (We are Catholic.)

We're already planning our second. If I had my way 100%, I'd get pregnant as soon as possible after this birth. I want my kids to be close together. We're only having two bios, and we might want more, so we may adopt.

Heh.

This is #6 for us. We have been open to having the children God gives us, with a couple periods of time when we were actively NOT ttc (recovering from c/section, illness, etc.)

For the foreseeable future, we've agreed we may be having our last. With six children in 8.5 years of marriage, we are feeling stretched very (VERY! VERY!!!) thin. Additionally, dh was recently diagnosed with some fairly significant things that we really need to get a handle on, and figure out how we're going to do life with the changes these health issues necessitate.

As of now we are not planning on doing anything permanent (surgery), but we've never conceived while on birth control (the sponge, primarily), so we're not too concerned about having an oops baby. And if we do, we will welcome him/her. But we are feeling tired, you know?

this is the last one for us unless we concieve a post vasectomy baby

We're Catholic, too. And we did use some NFP (FAM but without using barriers) after DS and DD were born. The hard part is keeping myself away from DH when I'm ovulating! Guess God designed that right, didn't he?

Oh, and was is serina who said something about cycles coming back sooner each time? I hope not!! I'm hoping for at least a 6 month reprieve since I'll be nursing two at once. :

I want alot of kids- but I am 32 and if I had my way I would have started a long time ago. Dh thinks maybe 2 at the most- but he said this after visiting his sister and her kids, who are the spawn of hell. Alot will depend on DH- I can't exactly MAKE him want more.

Yep, that was me. Totally anecdotal--I actually would like more evidence to see how more pregnancies affect post partum bleeding, but I haven't dug much up. I'm with you--I really want a break this time! Hopefully, your two babies will keep your hormones niiiiiiice and occupied for at least a year.

I have friends who nurse just like me--around the clock, co-sleeping, let baby suckle for comfort in between...and don't get their periods back for 14 mos - 2 years! When I got my period back at seven months the first time, I was shocked. Imagine my horror when I got it at 3 months the second time! I had barely stopped bleeding from the birth...

I'm praying for a nice, long break for menstruation. Not only would it be nice, but it would also put off the TTC#4 issue for a while, which is nice.

I found my periods return sooner each time as well; first was 12 months, second was 10 months, third was 6 months, and I have no idea what to expect this time!!!

We'd definitely like one more, but not right away. We really enjoyed having as much time as we've had to really focus on DD. Now I feel like she is mature and independent to handle and understand having a sibling, and finally ready to share mommy! So, I'd like to have my next baby 3-4 years after this one. That will probably be it for us, since we're 31 now (making us 34-35 when he have #3).

I hear ya! I know a few mamas IRL who take forever to get their cycles back. My SIL is a lot like me, though, and gets hers back as soon as her babies start going 4 hour stretches at night. I was 3 months pp both times, and that sucked.
