Really sore/painful boob

Hi! I'm a tandem nursing mama to my 2 1/2 yo and my 9 mo. Last weekend I had a clogged duct in my right boob that got big and hot and then gushed painfully while nursing and was better.

Yesterday my left boob started really hurting. It seems engorged no matter how much we are nuirsing on that side. It is hot feeling inside (a little warm on outside but not bad) and hurts like heck to touch.

What is wrong with me? Any ideas? I have been having some kind of shoulder pain for a couple of weeks and now I'm wondering if this could all be related.

Thoughts?

TIA

It sounds to me like a plugged duct. I never had any when I was only nursing one, but with two they seem to come on any time our schedules change, especially if I'm already tired. Nursing lots, heat, and rest tend to be the keys to helping them go away without turning into breast infections in my experience. Good luck.

Tons of vitamin C!!! No kidding. Take some right now.

It could be a plugged duct, it could be early signs of mastitis.

I would compare your symptoms w/ this and then figure out the management from there.

Hope you feel better soon!
