Anyone else have no signs?

I keep reading all the threads about having contractions for weeks and other signs of labor. With my first I had absolutely no signs of labor and ended up being induced at 42 weeks. I really am hoping I don't have to make that decision this time, but I really feel like I just wish there were some signs that this one was going to come on his own. My due date is Saturday, so I'm not stressing about it and I haven't even talked to my doctor about induction and the "two week limit" that everyone seems to have because I don't want to set myself up by assuming my body won't go into labor by then. Have any of you actually gone into labor without having signs for days or weeks beforehand?

I haven't had any signs yet. My breasts aren't even leaking. I'll let you know.

With DD I think I noticed maybe two braxton hicks contractions the week before I went into labor. That was it for signs. Then I just started contracting one night. She was 3 days post dates.

I had very few BH with ds. Nothing else. Then all of a sudden one afternoon it all came down, and hard- bloody show, mucous plug, crampiness, etc. etc.. and three and a half hours after the first SIGN of labor, he was born!

Now this baby's an entirely differnt story... I have every sign in the book and have for two weeks- but noooooo baby!!

No signs here. I didn't with DS either, was a bit crampy the Friday night, went to bed, got up an hour later to use the bathroom, lost my plug, and started having contractions (which were 3-5 minutes apart within an hour). He was born Saturday night, 4 days past due, or on his original EDD given to me by the Internet and my fam doc, depending on how you look at it LOL.

So I am just assuming once anything happens, that will be it for me again. Will see I guess.

Oh and speaking of breast leakage, none here, none here last time either, but I had loads of milk judging by how big he got!

I had absolutely no signs with my first. i kept waiting for something, but nothing happened! I never even felt like this would be the day!

With my second I had no signs either. It started different, but no early signs of impending labor. My first was born at 42 lmp, second 40 O date.

This time I guess the only signs I've had is bh every time I walk too much. but I don't really consider those signs because I've been having those since 20 weeks.

It's so fun hearing everyone else's experience and nice to see we aren't exactly the same.

Thanks for the replies. It is encouraging to know that sometimes it does happen without a lot of warning.

No contractions yet but my back hurts every now and then. My midwife said yesterday that this is a very patient baby.

No signs, but I am only 37 wks. I never had any signs with my last two, didn't even notice they dropped or had any discharge.

I was induced with my first at 42 weeks. dont suggest this, btw. anyway, with dd2 i had no signs until the morning that i went into labor when i lost my plug. i contracted off and on during the day and went into active labor at night and she was born the next day. this was at 40w5d. i hope the trend continues and i will go into labor sooner than later...

I had no signs until I went into labor at 42 weeks. I don't have any signs now. I would not have been induced regardless, will not do so now. But I stopped caring about what OB's want a long time ago.

A friend told me in the Netherlands(where she had her 2nd baby) they pretty much let you go as long as you're going to go. She said you can stay at home with broken water for a week! They have a lower infant mortality rate than we do, go figure...

If you hit 42 weeks and you don't agree with your OB, tell him you'll do a non-stress test or have an u/s to check how your placenta's doing (they like that stuff), but you're not just going to induce. It's your body.

I had no signs w/my first four but w/this one I've been having prodromal labor for weeks, off and on. I'm not considering that a sign anymore because never ever comes of it! I don't even think it's doing any good - I am at the same dilation/effacement/station at this stage of my pg that I was last time w/out any prodromal labor at all.

There's an article in Mothering about HB in Netherlands. They also have a chart comparing statistics of US and them.

I am not having any signs at 39.5. Midwife said I could start using EPO. I've been having gas and when I start to cramp from that I get a lil excited that it might be a contraction and then nope it isn't

Just wish I had some sign that labor was inement.

I'm having a very similar experience. My first baby was born 8 hours after every thing started... this baby has been telling me she's ready for over a week--and she's still inside! It's making me NUTS!

I'm 40w4d and not a single sign. I have not had any bloody show and I've had a total of 3 ctx over the last 2w.

Le sigh. It is kind of depressing.

39 weeks since yesterday and so far I have only had the pulling sensations down low that I believe indicate the dropping of the baby. I also have some pressure, but that could be the baby pushing because it does not feel like a contraction (starting up high moving down). This is my first, so I don't know how this will really feel.

However, I have felt a little like before a period a couple of times. And I tested my boobs and got some drops of colostrum.

I have been having BH contractions for the last 2 months but the intensity has really picked up in the last 2 weeks. I am still only 37 weeks, 3 days though. Last night I had cramps that felt like menstrual cramps and they hurt pretty bad until DH massaged my lower back. No discharge or breast leakage here.
