This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

:every time I watch Oprah, or at least in the past three or four years... I have gotten so angry I have to turn the TV off before I cause it harm!
'm not much for Dr. Phil either.I used to LOVE and ADORE Rachel Ray, but now I'm starting to get miffed with her selection of guests, and their conversation material.
I would rather spend my TV time watching Mr. Rogers with my Niece!

I didn't watch it but I'm not an Oprah fan but a friend emailed me about it. I guess it was about women from India who are surrogates for infertile couples. They're paid around $12,000 which is significantly cheaper than what would be paid here in the US, that amount of money can change the lives of these women and their families in India and the couple gets a baby. Win win for all? Matter of opinion I suppose.
I've been going through secondary infertility for almost 3 years now and we're going the egg donor route. My friend (who has two kids) annoyed me because she emailed me like "isn't this great?" and gee, wonder why we hadn't thought of surrogacy before. Surrogacy is wonderful but not something I'm personally interested in. For me, my uterus isn't the problem. Egg quality is. DH and I would rather use an egg donor so that I can carry the baby than have someone else do it. And if that doesn't work, then we'll be happy with our one perfect child. It's great for some people but not for me. I'm sure it was actually very interesting. I guess I'm still bent out of shape at my friend being so clueless to my situation especially when she's been one of my confidantes through this whole, sometimes tortuous process. Thanks for letting me vent.

Yeah, my uterus is fine too so I hope that I can carry a baby myself. I am a doula so my whole life is centered around childbirth and I have come to grips with the fact that I will be very disappointed if I can't go through that experience myself. So I guess I feel the same way about surrogacy as I do adoption - I will do it if it comes to that but giving birth is really important to me and something I would really like to try for.
