I think we escaped jaundice for once!! Anyone else with bf'ing issues?

This past week has been TOUGH!

But thankfully baby only got slightly yellowed, nothing more than a little supplementing couldn't cure!



I have a condition called Breast hypoplasia, and it SUX to put it nicely

This baby had some type of tonic lock jaw (thats not the name for it, but it FELT like that!) from the get go which tore my nipples up....but a trip to the Chrio this week per my m/w's advice helepd immensly, jaw issue GONE!!

THEN having to deal with pumping and hardly making any milk :

It's been a rough first week, but thankfully because I know my issues this time around (versus the other 6 times : , it has been slightly easier to adapt, thus I attribute him not having to stay in hospital for jaundice has been avoided! yeah!!!


Who else has been struggling and what are you dealing with?

My last baby had that lock jaw thing. It was terrible. I am so sorry it has been rough. It is so great that all your hard work has paid off with the lack of jaundice. Way to go mama!!!

David had a nipple only latch on my left side for the first week. It created a HUGE blister that is slowly healing, but when he latches on, it's REALLY painful STILL. Other than that, he's a great nurser. Gained 2 pounds in 2 weeks!!! Even though he's over 10 pounds now, he still feels so tiny b/c I also lug around my DS1 toddler who's almost 40 pounds!!

We also avoided jaundice this time. I know some speculate about a link b/t Vit K shot and jaundice. We skipped Vit K shot this time; I think that helped. YEAH for not having to stay longer in the hospital for yellow babies!!
