Someone mentioned Mady's balloon kick. That is me and my DH's favorite J&K moment EVER! That was hilarious!

I keep saying I'm not watching the show anymore since it annoys me so much. I think tonight's the night I'm going to stop watching...wish me luck.

Thank you for saying this. I was about to post the same thing. I have twins and did they cry? Yup. Broke my heart every single time. In fact, the huge driver for hiring a nanny wasn't my returning to work (which I didn't do until they were 9+ months old) but wanting their needs to be met sooner and more in-arms time, and that was before I had even heard of AP. Good lord I cannot imagine actually WANTING your children to go through that.

And re: how normal Mady and Cara are... NO WAY. Cara maybe but Mady has ISSUES. It's quite obvious there is some serious stuff going on there.

That magazine cover is HIGHLY Photoshopped. Of course, this is common for magazine pictures but this one is really creepy. Hannah looks scary, the boys look like they were cut and pasted into the picture, and girls legs don't look real. http://cdn.buzznet.com/media/jj1/200...keeping-02.jpg

I just read the GH article. I feel badly for the Polliwalk company. The author refers to the kids animal shoes as Crocs when they're really another brand, Polliwalks.

I am sure that it breaks most mother's hearts to hear a baby cry. Just because a parent uses CIO method does not mean they don't love them, they just haven't learned a better way. Disclaimer: I don't like and am not condoning CIO in any way. I feel that like most moms, Kate is raising her children in the best way she can, the way it works best for their family.

I can say from experience with my daughter, that sometimes, girls can be moodier than others, and that it doesn't always signal emotional issues. There have many times, especially recently, when it just simply does not matter what happens, whether my daughter gets exactly what she wants or not, she is not happy. There are also many, many times, when she is the most thoughtful and caring child ever.

The bad thing about reality television is that they tend to edit it so that you see only part of the story. For example, do I think that Jon and Kate only yell at each other? No, I don't. But that is the thing that people talk about. Do I think that Mady is always overly emotional and bull headed, no, I don't. When the producers put together the show, they do it in a way to keep people watching, whether it portrays the "actors" in a good light or not. I don't know what goes on in that house when the cameras are gone, but I am positive that it is not as bad as the blogs and smears that are ought there.

We watch them put their children in sweaters on 95 degree days for photo shoots.

They say that the girls are teased at school because of stuff on the show.

They admit that their family isn't around b/c of the show.

The kids have bathroom and nude scenes that now exist forever out there for anyone to watch.

Child protective groups are speaking out about the exploitation these children are experiencing.

The whole thing has turned into such a giant trainwreck--it's a show about a show. And the desperation to keep the gravy train rolling at any expense is getting more and more obvious.

Should be interesting to see how the book tour plays out with Beth.

I pity what happens when it all ends. The talk about how the film/production crew is like family. Wonder if they'll ever see each other again after filming stops? I wish there was more in those kids' lives that was constant and normal. Because based on the show and Jon and Kate's own accounts, I find it really scary and sad.

Ditto that!

See now I have read where others say that photo is messed with and I don't see it? Someone elsewhere said that one of the girls had 2 left hands?? I HAVE the cover in my home and it looks normal to me. Only thing I will say is that Hannah does not look like herself, other then that and Jon akward smile it looks fine to me??

I just prefer that dynamic, I guess. The Duggars make me really uncomfortable for some reason. I wish we could stop comparing the families...
But the children need to learn to express those feelings appropriately. I can't think of anyone who would let a 7 yo kick things (even if its just balloons) just because they are upset. There would be a sit down about saying "I'm not in a good mood, can I have time to myself please?"

Um... no condoning CIO here. Period. I have to go to a soccer game, so feel free to edit if you think your post crossed the line. Otherwise, I'll be in touch. *said ominously*

I think I know what the person was talking about. The girl at the top in the left. Her right hand on Kate's shoulder. She has to baby finger splayed out so it looks sort of like it's the thumb, thus giving the look of two left hands.

Kate did say that Mady sometimes needs some time to herself after school to calm down and that she takes her upstairs to her bedroom so she can have some peace and quiet to herself so Kate, in fact, may have said exactly what you suggested it's just that the cameras did not follow them upstairs that day.

If my child kicked a balloon out of anger, I would totally allow that. It's a BALLOON. In fact as a teacher, I was taught to allow some kind of "object" for taking out anger. It's SO not a big deal to me. I think it's healthy.

Again, different parenting styles... not something I would get all worried about.

Ok, what is up with Cara's nails in that picture? I know that they showed in an episode where she had to cut them for piano and Kate said something like "Everyone just raves about Cara's nails." But for reals? Why are they SO long and SO pointed? I think the pointed thing is what bothers me. That is just strange to see on such a young child.

It's natural for some people. If DD lets her nails grow they get a pointed look to them.

Exactly what I was thinking. I am sure that Kate has addressed this. If Mady needed some time to chill, I am sure she got it.

But again, I really don't think expressing one's self by kicking an inanimate object is any big deal...yes she obviously needed some time to calm down, but no it's not something to freak out about.

The 2 left hands are under the second "g" in Thanksgiving. Leah? I think. Right next to Cara's hemline. It's really goofy looking. That girl's body looks really weird, too--twisted kind of around the pinafore area. Must have been photoshopped.

It looks weird because both of her arms are behind her back and she's holding her right hand in her left hand behind her back and down to the side. It makes her body look twisted because well, it is. It's not an easy position to be in but, kids are super flexible.

Hmmm....maybe. But what's happening underneath the "v?" All that white should be her sleeve? And the white above the two hands is all strange and sort of opaque--not at all like the fabric of the other two girls' shirts. So....I don't know. I'm not a photoshop person at all, but it looks really weird to me.
