I love this show. Kate cracks me up - yes, she is high strung and has completely lost her mind, because she has EIGHT kids! I would be the same way...ok, I am getting close and I only have three kids.

The show was interesting when it first came on, but got boring to me after a while. I didn't like how the wife treats her husband (yelling and snapping at him constantly). I also didn't like that she uses paper plates for every meal. Its not that hard to wash dishes or run them through the dishwasher. That family with 16 kids use regular plates. That and I think she has obsessive compulsive disorder when it comes to cleaning and organization. I mean, I have never seen someone clean their house from top to bottom BEFORE a cleaning lady comes by.

I also thought it was a little strange that she took a photo of a toddlers poop. I asked Mom if she would ever do that and she said no, because it was gross.

Seriously, I just don't get why everyone has to knock Kate because she uses paper plates - she has 8 children that are 6 or under, feeds them mainly organic food, and yet people can't give her a break and overlook the fact that she uses paper plates. I cannot even comprehend the volume of laundry that she must do in one week - if I was her I would probably be using everything disposable that I could just to cut the workload a bit. Sheesh, give her a break.

Ummm....I do! But I would consider myself OCD, so I think that description is fitting!

I use paper plates sometimes, and I only have one child: I think its great that she is able to serve healthy meals on paper plates. To me, that is what counts most.

The family with 16 kids has kids big enough to wash dishes or empty the dishwasher! She has 6 little kids!

i love this show!! my hubby and i watch the show with our children and we just laugh, you can totally tell how much stress they both have in their lives and they do bicker...but dont we all? i think the show helps james and i when we are super stressed b/c we only have three, if we had 5 more i think we would be totally insane. in reguards to the 150 dollars she spends a week thats only on things she needs week to week. there is another episode where they spend a few grand at bjs club! its a great show and the kids are adorable!!

OMG, this is the hilarious thing I've come upon! I clicked on the link to their website and immediately cracked up. There's a cheesy sugar-sweet sounding song playing, "You were hand made by God" and then if you scroll down, it says,

I feel sorry for the babies. I imagine that any group of large sextuplets would have a tough time getting tons of individual attention but it seems as if they might get less in this family. I haven't watched the show though, so perhaps one day I might.

Has anyone found any video clips on YouTube yet?

eta: okay, so now that I've looked at the site more I shouldn't make assumptions like feeling sorry for the babies. Then again, if what others have posted here is true, then yeah, that sounds imperfect. Actually, I think I might have heard of these babies in real life....hmmm.....

i watch this show b/c i love the kids... kate means well but she kinda gets on my nerves w/how she treats jon...but i can also think hey the show could be edited to make her look worse than she really is yk?

I think Jon and Kate rock. I have 19 month old twins, a 3y/o and 8y/o and wish that I had 1/4 of her organizational skills. I think what they pull off is really remarkable. I may not agree with all of their tactics, but it seems that what they are doing is working really well for everyone.

And the paper plate thing? Um yeah, I totally understand it.

No judgment from me; yeah, she's a nag sometimes to Jon, but I know I am, too! I wish I had her organizational skills! I think it's amazing that she can take care of all of those little ones and feed them stuff that's not just junk food. She does her best to get them organic, even though it's more expensive. The kids seem really happy, from what I can see from the show. I think her kids are so adorable!

I don't see anything wrong with her using paper plates... she's doing what makes her life easier. Especially if she's cooking them three meals a day and snacks! That's a lot of dishes to wash. I would complain to my dh all the time about our dishes (until he finally got me a dishwasher for Christmas).

And potty training those kids! I'm having a really hard time potty training my one. And who cares if she takes a pic of their first poop in the potty? It's a proud moment for them and I'm sure they'd love to show their dad when he gets home from work (better to take a picture than to save the poop til he gets home, imo!).

Anyway, I love the show and really admire them as parents. I always get a chuckle from watching the show. Those kids are adorable.

I love the show. I think Kate is a lot more real than some of the other Discovery shows of the people with like 15 kids where the parents are just being icky-poo sweet all the time and talking about their amazing blessings from God. Having 8 kids is stressful and I think the show depicts that realistically.

Honestly, the woman is a sahm and feeds them as much organic and whole foods as possible, I think that's awesome. She's always talking about how they will cut other corners so that they can eat well. Compare that to "the buddy system" and tatertot casserole -- BLECH.

Come to think of it, I sent a picture message to my DH's cell phone when my 1st DD pooped in the potty for the 1st time!
