Jon and Kate Plus 8 - Page 5

I could never marry someone like her.
I'm sure there is alot of editing to make it seem better or worse than what it is. I wonder if Jon & Kate actual review it before it airs, b/c the way she talks to him is kind of mean at times, I'm just wondering how long he is going to take it, until he gets fed up and lets her have.

The kids are adorable, but I just don't think I would want my life on tv like that. But to each his own.

She can be pretty rude, but you never know what was edited. TV can make anyone look bad if they take enough comments out of context. The kids are adorable though.

I haven't seen the show but I have visited their website http://www.sixgosselins.com and I think it's all about the money - on the website they have a page devoted to "some of our favorite sponsors and friends", they are doing speaking engagements and Kate's looking for a Christian publisher for our upcoming book $$$ - are they spending any time with the kids while all of this is going on? oh thats right nannies x (Sponsor) will be taking care of them! I may be being a touch cynical but the sextuplets are not babies anymore so they don't have to high cost of diapers, formula and all the other paraphernalia babies need

Oh in the faq section it mentions the brand of bibs the kids used plus another nice mention of the brand of their passenger van both with links $$$$$

The majority of families around the workd have to get through the cost of raising children without the help of sponsorship why are they special?

I don't think you can make yelling and whistling across a store at your husband look any worse than she made it. I was actually embarrassed for him...and her. I mean, people were staring at them, and she was speaking as if she was on stage without a mike. I barely talk to my dog that way.
The worst part is that she didn't even acknowledge what she had done until she realized he was p'oed...royally.

I just saw part of the episode where they were shopping and she was barking at him and it was painful to watch. And then when they were all cuddled up in the chair giving commentary, he was so sweet by saying that it embarasses him and upsets him because he knows it makes her look bad. Her reply was something to the effect of "I don't care how I look to other people". Well...what about how you look/act toward your husband!

I know it's easy to judge, and I know I've had bad days but I can't imagine acting like that to anyone (especially dh) and espcially in front of kids! And, again, not to judge because I can't imagine what I would be like if I had 8 young children. I just hope that if I did act like that and saw it on tape I would at least address it and not dismiss/accept it as OK.

i have only seen one episode and in it all i could think was that Kate is depressed. i say this because i am and when i am upset with the world i take it out on my best friend- my husband. i am ashamed to admit i can treat him like real trash without even thinking about what i am saying or doing. it just spills out of me.

i've only seen commercials for it, as i don't have cable, and the kids are cute.

i don't know if it is a show that i would watch.

but i have no problem with the way that they are making money. i mean, i have no problem if they are getting endorsement deals, etc. why not? but then, i don't have a problem with endorsement deals.

though, as others have said, i don't know that i'd want to be on TV.

I agree. I wouldn't want to have my family splashed across gazillions of tvs, but I also can't imagine having to provide a financially stable life for 8 kids. It's not like my friends with big families where they can use hand-me-downs from older siblings.

How did they get all the twins? I assume it's not natural, right?

I would agree. I think that is why she can be so unpleasant and is such a control freak/perfectionist. If I had 8 children I would run away from home and I don't blame them for getting sponsorship. How the heck else are you going to afford to have that many children all the same age.

When are the new episodes of this show airing??? I thought it started last week but it didn't and this week no new ones either. Anyone know whats up?
I dont know, he kind of bothers me a little bit, too. In a past season, he was commenting on her looks, and said she ws much more attractive when they were dating b/c she worked to keep up her appearance, including dying her hair blonde. Now that she's had all these kids, he said he kind of felt duped b/c she doesn't look the same anymore. He also made fun of her tummy after the sextuplets. I would have killed him had he said those things to me.
I think she loses her temper easier, but he says things that make him sound bad too.

uhm, most people in the world didn't have 2 and then 6 kids all at once. i honestly don't know what we would do. we'd *have* to get outside help.

And? So they get money for their show... Good for them I say! Their kids seem happy & normal. I don't think they're hurting because of the show.

I think Kate is mean to Jon too but when we were watching the new episode my DH piped up and said "ugh, he's mean to her!". Which he is crabby a lot of the time. They BOTH talk about how much they love eachother and their home life. I don't think he's suffering. So she's a strong woman, I wouldn't call it abusive.

I think the show is fun & the kids are so adorable.

Oh and ETA: The "Where are the kids while all this is going on? Oh that's right, nannies" Is uncalled for. Do we really have a problem with working moms around here?? They have 8 kids. Don't you suppose they have to make money however they can?

YUP. He has made lots of comments about her looks before they were married. When he said he was "duped" into thinking he was marrying a blonde because he's only attracted to blondes she laughed and said "you should've checked my roots!"

They obviously have the kind of relationship where ribbing is accepted. I don't know why that is so bad in everybodys eyes.
