I think my mw missed my appointment

My midwife does all her visits are my house, and I'm pretty sure she missed the one for today and didn't call. I didn't write it down last week, but am almost sure she said next Tuesday at 10am. I'm pretty much at home all the time anyway, and never leave before 1pm-so why write it down right? She's disappeared on me a lot though out the pregnancy by not returning my calls or not calling schedule appointments, and I've resigned myself to that. But to miss an appointment and not to return my call at almost 37 weeks seems strange. She was out of town all weekend and I know she had another mom due around now, so maybe she's just busy/resting.

Anyway...I wanted to ask her about my skin. It feels like it's ripping on the inside. I'm carrying all high and out front and from my belly button to the right, it just hurts. I'm pretty sure it's not the placenta for anything because when baby kicks that spot it doesn't hurt worse. I've been rubbing vitamin e on from the outside hoping some will sink in and help. Do you ladies have that too? I've never gained over 15 lbs with a pregnancy (where I am now) and I'm tall with a long torso, so usually I don't complain because I know it most be worse for other women. But this pain is driving me crazy. It only feels better when I'm reclining and baby is already posterior. Any suggestions?

I had that skin splitting feeling for 3 days with ds toward the end of my pregnancy, and it turned out that he had shifted and was sticking his little butt out over my belly button. Sooooo painful. I sat on a birthing ball and rocked my hips for hours to get him to go back to a better position, and as soon as he did, I knew, because it no longer felt like my skin was going to split.

It could be your ab muscles seperating too. There's really nothing you can do about it if its that. Here's a link about it:

Could be skin stretching, ab muscles or maybe a nerve or nerve bundle being affected that makes you feel like your skin is being stretched. OUCH!!!! Try some massage oil and see if that seeps in better.

Thanks ladies! I'll wonder if I get down on my hands and knees and deal with the pain, if I could get baby to flip around and that might help. Not like my floors don't need scrubbed!

My midwife is back...yeah! I really like her, but she does tend to not call back very quickly...if at all. I called her and she was at a FTM's deliver from Monday night to Wed morning. Note to self: do not complain about 18 hours of labor for DS!

I have this spot sort of high up that really hurts. It's totally a skin feeling. The weird thing is, it's not an area that's been particularly stretched. I can only imagine it's a nerve thing. It's gotten a bit better, but it's been bothering me for weeks. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with where the baby is. I rub on it or rub lotion into it often, trying to desensitize. I have no idea if it helps.
