Okay, the girls name has been chosen. And the boy's name has finally been chosen (WAHOO!!!!), but I am trying to decide the middle name.

The choices for boys were whittled down to Nolan or Lachlan. Hubby picked Nolan. BTW, Lachlan is pronounced LOCK-lan (like land without the d).

Ritter is a family surname connected to me and we had decided on that. But now I wonder if I should just use Lachlan-James as the middle name. Hubby didn't like that both Nolan and Lachlan end with the an sound.

No, we won't budge on a hyphenated name with James in it. I don't particularly like that anymore, but all three boys have the same.

But the way I'm reading it, the middle name is really Lachlan-James, so it ends with an "ames" sound, not the "an". Or maybe I'm overthinking again.

Either way, I vote for the Lachlan option.

I like the Lachlan-James combo better.

I agree with Oskie... it comes out sounding like Nolan Lachlanjames, since it's hyphenated.

Either sounds good. I voted for Lachlan because I think it has a slight edge over Ritter, but you can't lose either way.

And I LOVE the name Nolan. I really wish I could have talked my husband into Nolan for ours, although I'm cheerfully committed to the name we've chosen at this point.

I like Lachlan-James better too, but I think Ritter-James sounds nice as well. BTW, for some reason, I really like name polls.

I agree with your hubby about the repeated -an sound. I like Ritter-James better. You know, just to confuse matters!

I picked that one. Lachlan is one of my favorite names.

The race is really tight! How can I be expected to decide on my own?

I like Lachlan-James better. That was my initial reaction before I read your post and after reading your post, I still think I like it better.

that is a GREAT name!

Nolan Ritter here....I think it flows better without the double 'n' endings of Nolan Lachlan.....

And speaking of hubby.. the conflicted man himself..

He didn't like Nolan Lachlan because of the -an sound at the end BUT as we were talking last night I realized our last son is Jackson Alton-James. Ummm, hello? JacksON AltON. Duh.

He didn't admit it, but he probably felt a little silly for putting up a stink about the -an sound.
