Diaper shower rinsy toilet thingy...?

I'll post this in the diapering section if no one has any good advice, but thought I'd put it here first, since I'm always hanging out here and I'm lazy :

Does anyone use those shower things for rinsing poo from cloth dipes into the toilet? Is there a brand that is better than another? And how freaking hard are they to install? (Cause I'm the handy one, and that's not saying much!!)

TIA!!!

All I can tell you is that we have one from Tiny Tush that I ordered as part of a co-op order. It is in a box in baby's room and installing it is on my husband's to-do list. When he finally succumbs to my nagging and sets it up, I can give you a fuller report.

I'll start by saying that we haven't actually USED it yet on cloth diapers (we didn't have one with ds, but bought one to use with the new babe).

It was REALLY easy to install....as long as you have flexible hardware on the back of your toilet rather than the older stuff that does not bend at all. It took my husband only about 10 minutes from start to finish... I could have easily done it myself, though, too!

We have the Mini-Shower and we bought it from kellyscloset.com when she had a discount code and free shipping :-)

It's in ds (4) bathroom and so far he hasn't messed with it LOL Lord help us the day he decides to play with it when we're not paying close attention!

I'll tell you one thing... it was very handy to have when ds had very loose messy bowel movements at one point a few weeks ago! I didn't have to use 100 sheets of TP...I just sprayed him off into the toilet where he was already sitting! Good stuff!

I was thinking it would feel good postpartum to use on my own tushie and I should go ahead and get one.

Have you seen this one? I wonder if it's any good...

We just got a sink sprayer from the hardware store, dh installed it. No idea which parts he used exactly. I use it pretty much every time I use the bathroom to clean myself

We have one and it's sooooo awesome for nasty toddler poops. It was pretty easy to install even though we had to go to Home Depot to get a flexible connector and take out the brass one. Just make sure to always spray at an angle and lift the toilet seat first or you get water everywhere.

Thanks! I just ordered one!

I really, really want one. I've spent nearly five years dunking, swishing, and wringing pooey diapers in the toilet, and having a sprayer would be a total luxury.

Annika, do you find the sink sprayer thing to work pretty well? Did your DH just hook it to the water supply line to the toilet? Sounds like a cheaps solution.

We have one too and LOVE it! My stomach is weak enough when I am not pregnant and it is great not having to dunk/swish/etc. the poops off of the diapers.

This is the one I have too, and I love it. Very easy to install. I have to warn you, though, that if you are planning to use it on yourself, that mutha is FREEZING!!!!! I can't even imagine doing it if the weather is cold, esp. if your cold water is like the barely-liquid-icy-blast I get here!

Yes, definitely cheaper than a diaper shower. In our old place we had it hooked up to the water line of the sink since that was superclose to the toilet. This time he put it in the line for the toilet. Works fine, just need to turn the water down or else the spray is really forceful and will cause messes. Bent a little hook out of a piece of wire and hung it up on the water tank. Voila! If anyone is interested I can ask him which parts are needed and will post later.

We just got our mini-shower and it's on DH's to do list tonight I think. I don't know why I waited so long. I guess because I didn't rinse poopy diapers until recently, because they were either breastmilk poop or solid poop. Now that DD is scarfing down the non mommy milk like there's no tomorrow, let's just say that the poop has gotten remarkably less solid. Can't wait to try it.

I got one for $17 from eBay, and DP installed it for me (he is *NOT* a handy man). I haven't tried it for diapers yet - some of you might remember me from this DDC, I'm back to TTC. It will be really nice for post-partum, too - the water is quite cool when you use it bidet-style

If you're going to use prefolds you might like the diaper duck. No installation required!
