1 oz. of RRL tea???

So I was reading about red raspberry leaf tea during labor over on the RRL tribe thread... in addition to drinking a cup daily, the recommendation is to drink at a strong infusion at the beginning of active labor. To do this, you brew 16 oz of water with 1 oz of tea for 30 minutes. It's supposed to make labor speedy and efficient and (mixed reports) less painful.

I measured out an ounce of tea last night... that's a WHOLE LOTTA tea. Anyone else heard of the strong infusion method? Tried it? Known someone else who tried it? Interested in trying it and swapping notes later?

More info is at this (incredibly long) thread:

I just read something about that recently- Yeah, an ounce would be a lot! Yikes! I've got mine in bags, but if I can find it loose I might be up for trying it. Anything would be better than the 25 or so hours of labor I had last time!

Sorry to hijack the thread but while we are on the RRL subject, I was just checking out my tea cabinet and my RRL tea has no expiration. I bought it back in mid-2005- should I just toss it? It literally has only one bag used. I am not so poor that I cannot go buy a new box... it wouldn't hurt me, would it? But if I am going to drink the stuff I would like it to be effective. What do you think?

Huh, that does seem to be pushing it on effectiveness... you could probably brew it strong and it would be effective, but better to buy some new. I HIGHLY recommend getting it in bulk... I have been amazed at the price difference.
