Question for the wool gurus....

Hi all!
I am a CD newbie and am thinking of making a wool soaker. I have some really nice boiled wool, could I use that?
The garment I would be cutting up is dry clean only, of course, but I am wondering if I could wash and dry the wool, to felt and compact it, before making the soaker (I guess I would have to relanolize it then, right? Is Eucalan wash or Lanisoh in water the best way to go? If I use Eucalan in the washing machine, will it stick around and make my fleece diaper liners repel?). If I did wash it, would that mean that it wouldn't shrink more in future washes?
Also, what could I bind the edges with? I would love to use something that is really pretty . I have a loden green and a red wool, and would love to use pea green on the loden and orange or something on the red.
TIA!
XOXO

Oh, OK... I didn't even know there was such a place! Sorry...
Thanks!

The boiled wool is iffy. If you wash/dry (felt) it, it may come out way too thick/stiff. Maybe handwash it, see if it shrinks, then go from there. If you're willing to handwash, you'll be ok then.

I don't know about different bindings, since I usually just fold over the edge to make a casing. I know some have used fold-over elastic, or you could use wool jersey like FuzBaby.

Hmmm, did you pick up your fabric at Woolrich? I've gotten some goodies in their sewing department.

Thanks Jen!
Yes, I got the fabric from Woolrich. I actually work for Woolrich (I am their outerwear designer) so I have an "in" here, LOL . I think I will just wash the fabric first and see what happens. Still not sure what I will do about the edges, but I talked to our sweater designer and it sounds like I could just cut them and leave them unfinished, since it is boiled wool (won't unravel, apparently), and make a cover with aplix closures or whatever, instead of a pull-on...
Anyway, thanks for responding!

The reason I do the casing is for a place to put elastic. It's true that the edges won't ravel.

Hmm, you need to design a line with wool jersey, so I can rummage thru the bins and buy all the samples
