Refrigerator woes

Okay, so there's water dripping from my freezer into my refrigerator, to the point that I have a good-sized puddle on the fridge's bottom shelf every day. Anyone here have an idea as to why this is happening? And more to the point, what can I do about it?

I'm freaking out here, because after drinking most of a pitcher of iced tea today and getting subsequent tummyaches, my hubby and I suspect our tea was dripped in. I know, I know: :Puke The hypochondriac in me is convinced that we're going to come down with some awful freezer-water-bacteria infection now-- so the sooner I can solve this dilemma, the better.

Thanks in advance for all your wisdom! I'm off to pour the rest of that tea down the drain...

we sometimes have water come from the freezer . Its because the drain hole on the bottom under the last drawer. Dh usually just hammers it and then it doesnt happen for a while.

We had this problem with our fridge a couple years ago and had someone come out to fix it. For us the drain tube was clogged with ice and he just poured down hot water from the freezer down the tube to unclog it-your manual probably shows where it is. He also pulled out the tray at the bottom of the freezer and removed any ice from in there. He said just to check it every once in a while. But after a year and a half, when we moved, it still hadn't happened again.

It could either be a small leak from your icemaker, or it could just be condensation dripping down. Either way, it won't kill you. You could have it fixed or set up something to catch the drips and empty it on a regular basis.
