I'm feeling ready!

Thread Starter
Tomorrow I'll be 37 weeks. Last week the midwives measured me at 48 weeks! They're feeling heavy, I can tell you that! I've felt more tired the last 3 days and my girlfriends and I feel like the vibe is changing.

I kicked the carpeters out of the house (they're done!) and now I'm just harping at my partner to get everything set ASAP!!! My to do list is getting teeny. I got a haircut today because I figure with breastfeeding twins it'll be hard to get another one for, oh, about a year... We've never been so organized- but we do still need to make the guest room habitable for grandmas.

Tomorrow is my next midwife appt, and a final ultrasound is on Fri to confirm positions. I'll keep y'all posted.

Full disclosure- I'm fishing for some affirmation, support and love from y'all. Carrying these two is feeling difficult lately and I've never given birth before...

You're in the homestretch!!!

Go with your body- rest if you feel like resting, nest if you feel like nesting

My MW started harping at me to walk when I was 37 weeks with Pixie. I'm not sure it helped anything. I struggled to do a mile a day (they wanted me to do 3! HA!) and I went 41 weeks.

You're doing awesome having gotten this far carrying twins! Don't forget to write a lot in their journals - you'll love looking back on it in a few years, or with your next pregnancy. And Pixie- even at her age- LOVES to read what it was like for me to be pregnant with her, especially now that she's going to be a big sister and compares my pregnancy with her to this pregnancy.

Hugs!!

Awesome that you are feeling ready! It sounds like you've got all the major stuff taken care of and are ready to go. Spend some time resting and pampering yourself before you bloom!

Lindsey started a thread about feeling a little panicked about giving birth to twins... a lot of ladies gave her some good ideas about how to prepare mentally for the labor. The thread is here: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=765084. It might have some ideas for you.

But of course you also deserve your own personal affirmations. Congrats on making it to 37 weeks! Hang in there!

I hope those babies decide to come soon for you and the other twin mamas. I'm starting to feel uncomfortable and out of breath all the time at 35 weeks and with only one baby. I really can't imagine carrying two babies full term. You're amazing! You can do it.

Wow, it sounds like you really are ready! Congrats to you for carrying your babies for so long, for breastfeeding them, for going into this whole process so organized and together. You'll do great!

s mama! You are so close! I (think I) know how incredibly uncomfortable you are feeling.

You can do this. You are strong. Women have been doing this for thousands and thousands of years (even two at a time)!

No need to fish! We totally support you! I was just thinking about all the twin mamas in our DDC who have carried all their babies so long--you all must be taking amazing care of yourselves. And you will have beautiful, healthy babies to show for it!

Measuring 48 cm I'm sure is hard. I can only imagine. You are doing *great* and you'll be holding your babies soon!

WOW, Mama. 48 weeks!!!!!!! No wonder they're feeling heavy. You deserve a rest. I don't know how you've gotten so organized during a twin pregnancy. It says a LOT for your strength. You're my new hero! (Sorry, Lindsey! LOL)

Hugs, mama. They are healthy in there and will be here soon!
