..with the two hours in the middle of EVERY FREAKING NIGHT that I have contractions. I didn't realize until last night that the contractions I was having weren't that painful--but only because last night they were SO SO SO PAINFUL!

Then, of course, after 2 hours of them being 6 minutes apart, they just stopped.

Now my whole abdomen/uterus/cervix feels achy and bruised. I'm exhausted.. and my husband decides to pick a fight with me about not doing my share around the house the last couple of weeks.

I know how frustrating that can be. DS is due late October but I have been feeling like he will be early. 2 days ago I started having contractions around 4 PM lasting until about midnight. They get about 10 minutes apart and then stop. It has been really frustrating.

But -- know that they are helping your body get ready!! I actually have been checking my cervix and the first day this happened, I couldn't even reach it -- and now it is within reach and slightly (2-3 fingers) dialated.

Hang in there -- I have also read that having a fight with DP/DH can bring on labor -- so you are definitely close!

Try having them for 5-6 hours at 5 mins apart. I had that happen two different days and they have done nothing for me.

AHhh--- but they aren't doing nothing.

Just keep telling yourself that! My doula says that women who have lots of starts and stops of labor have easier labors because the contractions are doing something even if they aren't dialating! They are moving the baby, aligning your cervix and birth canal, effacing your cervix etc etc etc...

what???? he needs his head examined! Kind of high expectations considering that you're working 24/7 atm carrying his child isn't it? I would kill my husband if he said one word about what i do or dont do these days. In fact, I was feeling kind of wierd this morning (not contractions wierd, just light headed and nausious) so I called him to come home from work... a 45 minute drive, just to sit with me in case I needed anything.

Homeopathic caulophyllum 30C really helps with the prodrominal labor - doesn't eliminate it completely but makes it more coordinated. It's nice theory about the easier time... I don't find laboring for weeks that "easy" myself. Labor is labor - ykwim? Last night I was hurting quite a bit and drank a cup of Bedtime Tea from Yogi Tea (my midwife looked over the herbs with me and felt it was fine - valerian is the main one). It didn't work right away, but once I got to sleep I slept 4 straight hours which was *wonderful*!
