I've heard of it, there was an ad here but I don't know anyone who has actually tried it. I'm interested though so share if you find out!

I heard about it today when I accidentally clicked the banner

I just use Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap on my toothbrush. Or sometimes I use baking soda or sometimes I use my crazy expensive all natural toothpaste.

So, um, yea. I've heard of toothsoap before.

There are probably tons of threads on this topic in the Natural Home and Body Care forum as well as the Dental Forum.

No, I always assumed toothpaste was toothsoap.

Yes, I've used it. The actual brand ToothSoap that is. First I bought the shards and they were good. But the pieces would get into a crevice of a molar and then I had a soap taste in my mouth, which would make me gag. Then I bought the liquid toothsoap and it was okay but the shards were better. And it was expensive. Very. Especially as I have to have it shipped out of the US to here.

I use it! I got used to the soap taste quickly, it's really not that bad. I notcie an IMMENSE difference brushing with the Tooth Soap! My teeth have that "just had a cleaning at the dentist" feeling every time I brush. It also helps with my bleeding gums. If I am consistent with my use, the bleeding usually subsides.

The basic idea is that there are things in many toothpastes that aren't so good for your teeth. Toothsoap gets your teeth and mouth clean without interfering with having a normal mouth function- small cavities actually can heal on their own.

You don't need to buy expensive tooth soap. I use Dr. Bronner's peppermint bar soap- which cost me $3 for a huge bar that's been lasting me months. I just rub my toothbrush against the bar of soap, but you could also grate it up and dip your toothbrush into it, or dissolve the flakes in water and use as a liquid.

I clicked the banner because I'm trying to find something to use with DD without fluoride, but I about gagged when I saw the price and the marketing shtick that using their product would save lots of money. LOL!! $80 + shipping every year for toothpaste is _not_ going to save me any money. Who would ever believe that?

I ended up feeling very suspicious about the product, based on the separation of the "booklet" from the actual product, and their grduging disclaimer at the bottom of the page, where they say (despite their booklet and their marketing hype) that they are not claiming that the product will mitigate or cure disease... but that they have to say this only to avoid regulation as a drug.

Too much suspension of disbelief required for me to buy into this product.
