Nursing Kung Fu?

DS has been practicing his King Fu moves on my face while BFing as of late... and i'm SO done with it. :

who else is getting kicked in the face during nursing sessions? ugh! whenever he does it, i hold his foot and tell him, "it hurts mom when you kick her in the face. please stop kicking." if he keeps doing it, i quit nursing and put him down.

why is he doing this? he does it at least once a day. i really can't handle it much longer...

How long has this been going on? Is there another way you could direct that energy (i.e. like nursing necklaces are to twiddling)? Maybe even a nursing necklace would distract him in this case too? DD went through a gymnastics phase - oy!

Hugs! Hang in there mama, I know it can be tough!

We sometimes get this, too w/ 10.5 mo old DD ! Sometimes DH gently holds her down while I BF on the bed. A distraction like a Nursing Necklace also works!

BTDT with my first child and now we're entering that stage with dd#2. The way I've dealt with it is to hold the offending limb tight, firmly say no, and keep nursing. If dc squirms more and tries to go use another limb, I end the nursing session and put dc down. They cry and want to nurse. I repeat the process - it usually takes two or three tries but it stops.

I get this all the time, plus my face is always breaking out bc of him rubbing his hands and feet all over my face while nursing.

~waving~ Mahmum of 16 month old acrobatic nurser here....lol. A few things I have done are to change his position or to lay on the bed. Now, he likes to lay full length on me in the rocking chair and ssoommmetimes, I can get him into a good place where the 'football' hold works for us. I have wondered when he does it sometimes, if maybe he is uncomfortable in our rocking chair..not enough room...since he's getting so big now...hmm....

I have a little gymnast too! Something that works for me (most of the time) is to get up and walk around with hiim while he is nursing (no easy feat as he is a 26lb 10month old...) but it stops him from kicking me. A nursing necklace has also helped and I do notice a big difference when I am not wearing my necklace.
