help! Prodromal labour is making me crazy!

I'm 40wks 6 days and I feel like my body is never ever ever going to go into proper labour :
Last night I had 8+ hours of contractions between 5 and 13 minutes apart and they *hurt* - as in, I was breathing through them and couldn't talk. But then I finally fell asleep and when I woke up - nothing. I feel like I could go for a run this morning. ARGH.

Someone please tell me my body is capable of doing more than this stop-start-who-knows-what stuff. . . . . because otherwise I think I am going to freaking lose my mind :

Oh and I checked my cervix and other than being soft and slightly effaced, nothing going on there either. I really want to trust my body, but this is making is soooo hard.

*hugs*

I wish I had words of wisdom. I totally know how you are feeling. I have been feeling the same way. we need to create a support group, maybe some cheerleaders.

Yes, our body can birth a baby. Yes, we can do it!"

My advice is to try homeopathic Caulophyllum 30C - it helps make the contractions more coordinated and effective, stops labor when it's not time, and is supposed to help with a smooth labor when it is time. Try to get as much rest as you can while you can. I can't imagine this will go on for long. Sounds like you are getting real close!!

Ugghh, I know what you're saying. I wasn't even sure if I was in real labour or not...ended up getting checked by my midwife who said it wasn't time yet.
