40+ It's Autumn ~ Time for Change - Page 2

How do you add the mood button? I couldn't find it on MDC.
The mood button is just underneath where your name is where it says "Welcome, msgoodbuns" on the upper right hand side of the page, above the "Log Out" button

I went and gave FOUR VIALS of blood today, geez my arm is sore. The endoc. doc I saw on Friday is going to run tests on just about everything - thyroid, glucose, FSH, estradiol (sp?), etc etc and a full cholesterol panel, too.

Can't wait for my first acupuncture appointment on the 25th. Going to see a guy who came highly recommended on my local parents group for fertility and pregnancy issues, and as an added bonus, he graduated from my Alma Mater of UNC-Chapel Hill. I think its always nice when you have something in common to talk about, kinda breaks the ice, KWIM?

I am tired and have a headache...going to try to take it easy and relax a little tonight....but still have to feed the doggies. Have a nice evening everyone!

In the interest of improving my mood, I'm changing my sig!

Good morning good women!

I am loving the positive energy we are trying to create!

11 DPO today and temps dropped this morning. I just know this is not my month and soon (Saturday) I will be on to CY 5. I'll get my CD 3 bloodwork done again on Monday or Tuesday and then a baseline ultrasound a few days later. So at least I, and my doctor, are being proactive, that's a good feeling.

My sister is due any day (official EDD is Sunday) with her first (probably my only neice or nephew). So it will be nice to have a new baby to love (and not have that much responsibility for, LOL).

Blessings to you all

What a fabulous group we have here, and it sure helps my mood to know that there's all this support!

Suppose I'll get my blood test results tomorrow, eager to see what it all looks like, and also find out my "basic" health (cholesterol, etc) to make sure all is OK. Last time I had it done was about 10 years ago and I got a very clean bill of health so hoping things are just as good now.

Today is the day! The Tom Petty documentary is available at Best Buy! We were going to try to go to one of the screenings here in SF but they sold out pretty quickly plus it is 4 hours long! Veganmama, how was Bruce! I saw him way back in the day, 1985 or 1986 I think...what a great show.

Have a super day everyone!

Fingers crossed for great blood test results Susan! We dropped off DH's (ahem) "sample" this morning, they say it will take 2 days for results and then I will likely be doing CD 3 bloodwork on Monday or Tuesday depending on what time on Saturday AF shows up.

Springsteen was great.

Hi Ladies,

Well, I'm adding the mood button as I write. It seems to be taking a long time to upload. I've selected inspired, too (just like Juneau), even tho the Red Sox aren't doing very well yet tonight.

I had a drop of spotting tonight, but hope that AF will hold off for a few more days. I'd be happy to make it to 9DPO, but of course, 10 would be better. Today is 7....I've got to figure out how to increase my LP length. I'm already doing the B6 / Vitex thing. Occasionally drinking my green foods drink, but am not quite on the wheat grass wagon yet. Any other suggestions? Tricks of the trade? I know I've asked this before, but a good review never hurts!

Hi MsGB -- we are virtually in Cleveland and the mood here is near hysteria . We are a divided household, though -- dh is a Red Sox fan, having spent a few years in Boston as a child. We're finding it hard to make time to listen to the games, though. Too many other things going on in the evenings. But I suppose we'll make time for the World Series, since we'll be cheering for whichever of the two teams makes it.

Sorry, no advice on LP lengthening.

I made my mood Mellow. I am 5dpo or 7 dpo depending on who you listen too. LOL FF gave me crosshairs at CD10 TCOYF just gave them to me today for CD12. Either way I think our timing was pretty good. Let's see if the Vitex helps. Maybe I had a good egg to release this time.

On a different front I just got a job. I will be working graves starting in a couple weeks, so may not be around here that much. It is a huge change for me and my family. So keep us in your thoughts.

Hi everyone!

My sister is in labour!!! Sooooooo excited to see my little nephew sometime today I hope. She called me at 4 am and said it really hurts (um, yeah). I guess I downplayed the pain of it too much because I didn't want to freak her out!

AFM I am 12 DPO today, temp went up a little today but it has been bouncing betwen 36.7 and 36.9 for 4 or 5 days now. Based on my past 2 (viable) PGs, this is not high enough for me to be PG. So just awaiting AF on the weekend and then the testing starts next week.

Good luck to everyone, especially those about to O!

Blessings

msgoodbuns, have you thought about using a natural progesterone cream to lengthen your LP? Sorry if you've already talked about this and I missed it. I am super sleep deprived today given 5 nights of sick kids and my sister calling me in the middle of the night!

Any news yet? Hope this will send good baby vibes your way (and ours too)!

One question I had from the old thread that no-one ever answered....how strict are you all with caffeine and alcohol while TTC? I have gone to one half-caff latte and have one drink a week (or less). I know I should go totally cold turkey...
Hi everyone. I haven't posted here in a while and wanted to say hi. This is my third cycle since the m/c and finally I am not having that severe pms/depression the two weeks before AF. Maybe it won't be so heavy and crampy this time. I'm about 8 dpo and I'm feeling pretty good. Lots of energy and I've been exercising almost every day.

Susan - I drink one cup of tea every morning and have for years. I drank a cup of tea throughout my pg with my son and even when I was nursing him. So no, I never cut back on caffeine because I don't drink much to begin with. I drink a glass or two of wine a few times/week. If I was totally in a TTC mode I would probably cut way back or stop. I do think it increases fertility if you avoid alcohol.

Hello I am cheerful - I actually am most of the time because I think it is good karma and I have a lot to be happy and grateful about

I do have a question - how long do you have EWCM? I seem to have it for 2-3days. Are you most fertile at the begining or end of it? I am not charting because I couldn't catch a change in my temps this summer. I will start again after AF this month. I don't think we have timed it right this cycle

Juneau I am in Dayton, hasn't gotten too crazy here yet. I moved from Chicago a year ago and they were crazy while the Cubs were still in it.

Juneau, it's great to incorporate sports talk into this thread. You're lucky to have a household that will be fine w/either outcome. My two roommates are die hard Red Sox fans (and having grown up in New England, their my team, too), so each loss just stinks over here!

Thanks for the input re: lengthening LP's. Knowing that mine is still short :, I'll use progesterone when I actually introduce sperm into my body during a cycle (even tho I've had some miserable responses to it...moody, etc). That should certainly help. I also take EPO. If anyone comes across any other suggestions, please let me know.

As for alcohol and caffeine, I went cold turkey on both for a while, but this has been a long ttc journey, and I've added wine back and a bit of caffeine (can't help it when I'm really tired!) My coffee is typically 75% decaf with a bit of regular mixed in, and I drink 1/2 - 1 glass of wine many nights /week. I did give it up for a while, but being too restrictive on everything makes for a less satisfying life. Would I be pregnant if I wasn't drinking wine? I doubt it. I may cut back again when I ttc next month, tho. We'll see.

Laurie, congrats on the new job!
Veganmama, congrats to your sister (I assume there's a new bouncing baby by now!)

No baby yet. I think the poor thing is going to have a couple days of pre-labour like I did. I did get her a TENS machine today though and put it on her, she said it was helping. Her contrax had slowed to every 20 minutes by dinner time tonight so I came home.

With DD I had strong contractions at least every 10 minutes for 46 hours. Finally had her after 47.5 hours after having lost my mucous plug.

Susan, I cut back to 2 cups of tea a day and rarely drink alcohol. Not because of TTC though, I've just gotten out of the habit after being PG or nursing for 6 years straight.

DH did his SA yesterday. If the results come back not so great, he is going to cut back on caffeine and alcohol though.

Laurie - I forgot to wish you luck with the new job. I'm sure it's a big change for you and I hope it goes well.

Joy - 2-3 days of ewcm is normal. I read that the last day of fertile cm is the most fertile because once it goes away it indicates you have already O'd.

Juneau - I went to college near Cleveland (Kent State) and lived in the area for several years after graduating. I can imagine the excitement there.

MsGB - I hope you can lenghten your lp. I think vitex will help but I think it takes a few months to work. Good luck.

13 DPO for me and another slight temp drop, confirming for me that I am not PG!
My sister still hasn't had her baby. Well, I am hoping she has and BIL has just forgotten to call me! But I think she is gonna be a long labourer like me.

Well for me the first time I was TTC #1 at 40 yo, I was drinking a Venti Latte every day from SB!! That's before I knew any better . Now, while TTC #2 at 42, I've cut back to one-shot espresso per day. If I went cold-turkey I think I'd have massive headaches. In about two weeks or so I'm decreasing to 1/2 shot expresso and I think I'll stay there. If 2008 rolls around and I'm still TTC, I'm certainly going to take more extreme steps - NO Caffeine.

Oh, and I haven't had any alcohol for probably four years or so.

Thanks for all the feedback you guys! I'm having a daily triple grande latte but have 2 shots decaf 1 shot regular leaded. I do get the massive headaches, but have gone cold turkey a few times and it takes about 3 days to get over it completely, and I'll have to do that WHEN we get a BFP, hopefully this month!!

Veganmama, any news on the baby yet? I keep checking back to hear something, hope all is going well.
