Beginner level painting question...need help!

What am I doing wrong?? I'm trying to paint on glass with acrylic paint. Every time I go to another layer, the new layer of paint pulls off the old layer. I let the first layer dry completely, and still, this happens. Does acrylic not work on glass? I really need help because this project needs to be finished asap.

I'm not sure about acrylics, but I do know that tempera works well on glass.

Acrylics will always pull of of glass; glass and acrylic are both relatively non-porous; nothing to hold them together once the adhesive properties of the water are gone.


Oils work better, but I'm afraid your best bet is expensive glass paint.

Yes, you need to use glass paint, or it will come off with ease...sorry to say...but hope this saves your work!
