Can I take this while preggo??? I feel a cold or something coming on my sinuses are all achy and I don't want to take any meds so I was wondering if anyone knew if this was ok to take.

Yes. But, if I can offer a suggestion, take a zinc supplement or suck zinc lozenges as well. There's actual scientific evidence to show that a high intake of zinc can reduce the duration and severity of a cold.

emergn'c is the only "prenatal" vitamin i took while pg with dd. they are actually fairly equal nutritionally to most prenatal vits.

you can find emergn'c at most health food stores, including trader joes. i think raley's carries it and maybe some drug stores (rite-aid, target etc)

i hope you feel better soon!:

Without being a wet blanket - the only time I ever caught a cold on vacation was when I decided to give Emergen-C a try as a preventative.

This was last weekend, sigh. The midwife said Sudafed was fine as was Tylenol, but the Sudafed didn't work at ALL on me, so I didn't bother trying a second dose. If it doesn't help me, I'm not shoving it down HIS throat, safe or not. Or is it his placenta?

I'm drinking a lot of hot tea and cold juice. Zinc DOES work, but check with your practicioner for how much is too much. I used to know but my brain is all fuzzy ATM.

If you do get sick, remember not to blow your nose too hard or you'll risk a sinus infection. I hope you don't get sick at all, though.

Oh I have a whole box of those I was wondering about the zinc though my mom said today that yeah it works but is nasty as can be LOL, oh well I will just drink this emergenC for the next few days, it usually works pretty good for me.

So when I take this I shouldn't take my prenatal vitam w/ it right?
i probably wouldn't take both, although if you already have, don't worry about it. just don't make a habit of it, ykwim?

some days, i would take two packets of emergn'c, especially when i was having back pain (vit c works wonders for back pain), and felt fine. a good gauge is if it makes your pee turn an unnatural color, you've taken too much! my pee has always been a normal color (almost clear) when taking emergn'c. that's why i don't take prenatals. it really freaks me out that my pee turns sonic yellow. there's something inherently wrong about it: yep, i'm a freak!

EmergenC is only water soluble vitamins, so anything your body doesn't need it just flushes out. There's no danger to taking too much, but also no need to take both.
