Where do I get foaming bottles IRL?

I'm sure it's here somewhere.........but I can't find it. I really don't want to order foamers off the Internet. Where can get one IRL to try? I've got Dr. Bronner's and I need to get started.

TIA!

Do you mean the soap dispenser bottles? I bought one full of whatever liquid soap at the grocery (just a generic brand), then dumped the soap in it, cleaned it out, and filled it with Dr. Bronners and water instead (didn't take much Dr. B's either!).

Is that what you're talking about?

I've been meaning to do this. What's your Dr. B to water ratio?

(Not sure if you're asking me or the OP, but here's what I do:

I don't really measure. I just fill the bottle maybe 1/5 or so [if that] of the way with Dr B's and then fill the rest of it up with water. If you have too much Dr B's it gets kind of goopy around the nozzle part, so I sometimes have to add water as I use it.)

Method makes a foaming soap, so I just bought a couple of those and have been refilling them since. I'm looking for something a little more durable though, since these are getting beyond grimy.

For the bottles I have, I put about three or four tablespoons of bronner's, and then fill the rest with distilled water. I usually scent it with about 12 drops of essential oil, too.

You'll be able to tell if you don't have enough soap, because your hands won't glide smoothly without enough and it feels horrible.

Good luck, we've saved insane amounts of money so far.

I'm using recycled bottles that originally had bath and body works foaming soap in t hem. I just washed them well w/ baking soda and soap and they seem to be ok. dial and other brands also have foaming bottles that you might be able to reuse. ask around and see if any friends have them

Hmmm... I go through tons of handsoap in the washroom due to using a few different products on my super-short hair every morning. I buy the huge Equate jugs and refill my little dispenser and it's pretty cheap but can I use that to make foaming soap?? I do have an empty foamer that used to have Neutrogena face wash in it (worked fine for a couple of months and then just up and burnt my face like crazy so I dumped it).

Can I just use regular handsoap and water? I have no idea what Dr. Bronner's is, though I've heard of it many times. We don't have any Dr. Bronner's products here that I've ever seen.

I've tried to dilute regular hand soap you get in those giant jugs, and most of the time it just separates into water on the top, soap on the bottom. Other kinds of soap (like Seventh Generation and Dr. Bronner's) seem to dilute better.

Our local natural foods store sells a lot of different Dr. Bronner's soaps. I bet a local store with decent customer service would order it for you if they don't currently carry it.

I know it's a little pricier but Pampered Chef used to sell a soap foamer. It came with an additional spout in case it became clogged. It works pretty good. I don't know I'd hunt down a consultant now that they are pretty common in the stores if I didn't have one. I do like mine though.

Great Question Whittliz!!

I think I am going to use the idea of buying a cheap dispenser filled with some thing else and then pour it out and make my own. I have got enough Dr Bronners to last me a lifetime!!

I think I've seen them in Rite Aid chain drug stores.

Oh Hello IRL friend! :

Thanks ladies.........I had thought of getting whatever is at the grocery store and just dumping it out, but I felt guilty about wasting it! I'm over it now though after hearing everyone else is doing it.

I got Dial because the bottle was clear and I don't have to peel off a sticky label.

A couple of times to get a few dozen sample containers for my foaming formula, such as to give out for Trick or Treat, I've bought trays full of miniature bottles of bubble bath or shower gel from a discount store near me. They were already marked down, of course, but I offered an even lower price for the bunch, and got it. Only trouble is, it was a lot of work to rinse out the last of the viscous, perfumed contents! (I saved the poured-out stuff for washing dishes or whatever.) Still saved a considerable amount compared to buying that quantity of empty liquid-tight sample bottles. Rite Aid is selling fancy colored empty plastic bottles individually at a ridiculously high price. I hope their empty foamer bottles are a better buy if you go there.

I tried it and it works! I used cheap equate liquid soap and filled the foamer bottle about 1/5 with it and then added warm water and rocked the bottle to mix it up. It just looks like there's water in the bottle since the soap was clear but it works! I think next time I'll use slightly more soap but it definitely foams and washes. I think this huge jug is now going to last me for 10 years!
