You could be having Braxton Hicks Contractions which are your bodies way of practicing Mine does it occasionally when I overdo activity (like having your car break down and walking 2.5 miles home ) As long as there is no continuity (keep coming in a pattern) or pain I wouldn't worry at all

Yeah its normal. In fact your uterus contracts quite often, but normally not strong enough that you notice!

Yes it is normal.

My belly is almost always tight when I haven't been getting enough rest, and it has definitely been tighter more often during this pregnancy than the other 2. My midwife also suggested to make sure to take a Calcium/Magnesium supplement that that would help with the tightness. She also suggested Vitamin C 'cause it is also a natural anti-inflammatory. Anyway, they have been helping me out a bit...It is normal but if you have questions I would always just ask your care provider. I know I am going to talk to the midwife this week when I see her just for reassurance even though I know it's all good.

Yeah, Normal...

but I have noticed that inevitably when I feel a lot of tightening it's when I notice that I haven't been drinking enough water. Stay super hydrated (well drink to thirst).

Kate, did your m/w mention that you tend to get them more with subsequent pregnancies? This is the official party line, but anecdotal evidence suggests that the third is the one where you end up totally miserable with never-ending BH and then prodromal labour- and often, then, a fast active labour.

Mama..me?, they are totally normal but I know they can get annoying. For me, I try to visualise them as my uterus giving baby a hug

It's so different for every woman, but I have had early and frequent contractions (I hate calling them Braxton-Hicks) with each pregnancy. This is my third, and I have them atleast 10-15x a day. I just consider it my uterus working out to get in shape for labor! And my previous labors have been pretty darn efficient, so I'm looking forward to another one.

Do they feel like your uterus is kind of buzzing? I get these feelings where I am hyper aware of my uterus and the best I can describe it is that it feels like it's buzzing. It's not at all painful, but I am very aware that it's there.

I get the buzz AND the tightening, especially right after I wake up when baby is most active, and if I'm turned on. Uncomfortable but not painful. I didn't expect this stuff for a long time, but as long as it's normal, that's cool!

I kinda figured that it was normal, but I didn't know about hte prodromal labor, ugh something I will have to wrap my head around. I am confindent about labor but I am soooo not confident about transition and pushing this time around. That is when I had most of my problems last time.

I am having tightening too, I'm 21 weeks , and even though it's normal it still freaks me out. What bothers me most is my ligaments and how uncomfortable they get, almost like a sports cramp from not stretching. I am so out of shape for this one too. I used to walk everyday and do Yoga, but with this babe, I am uber lazy, but still chasing my other ones, so I guess that counts!

I get those during growth spurts.
