So my water has been broken for a while, but I'm barely having any ctx. I'm trying everything (with midwife's encouragement) but they're not coming. If this goes too long, I will have to go to the hospital for pit -- I don't even want to think about that.

My water was clear, I feel fine, and the baby's hr is good. I just need some darn ctx to get her out!

It was 26 hours after my water broke that I finally started having ctx. It's a tough wait but your baby will be here soon!

eta: I'm an idiot and just realized it was 26 hours, not 36. Either way, hope you are holding your sweet babe by now!

Thank you! We're nearing 36h...

Please tell me, what worked for you? I have done castor oil TWICE today, and I'm on and off the pump, and getting some good ones, praying they will last.

I've been thinking of you and wondering how you're doing. I'm sorry to hear things are slower than expected.

This might be silly, probably already tried, but my water hasn't broken yet, and a good long car ride always gets bouts of contrx going. We have a small Neon w/poor suspension, so my uterus always attacks if I'm in the car for a good 15-20+ minutes straight. Know anyone who has poor suspension and some bumpy roads? Maybe an excuse to get out a little and get some fresh air (always helps me feel better when I'm down).

Just a thought...I'll be saying a prayer something works.

Try a loving session with you and DH. I've heard so many stories about that working and if that doesn't work maybe acupuncture? I'm thinking nice strong, regular, contrax vibes for you!

I don't have any advise for you. Sending patience vibes over for you and some kick-in-butt contracting vibes twds your uterus.
Have you tried anything herbal/homeopathic?

I thought that sex was a no-no after your water breaks?

Not that this would probably even be very comfortable in the face of a broken bag of waters, but would it be possible to have sex with a condom? Or is that completely out, too? I know my midwife says a bath is fine if you add salt to the water.

Just wondering for my own knowledge base....

In the Netherlands they let you 7 days at home with broken water(I have a friend who had a child there), just a thought!
