skin
acrylic/wool sweaters
linoleum
walls
carpeting
banisters

This should give you an idea of how my day is going. Michael can't quite understand why his hands and feet are blue and it won't wash off.

I'd say get someone other than you to use bleach on any thing bleachable - walls, linoleum, banisters. It should come out of the sweater in the wash as procion only dyes cellulose fibres. You skin will eventually get clean with lots of washing, but you might be bluish for a couple of days. As for the carpet - it depends on what it is made of and what you can use to clean it with - I'd try dish soap first and progressively try stronger products. Sorry your house and child are blue. I always seem to get dye on things I don't want it on and I'm supposed to be an adult. You might want to try posting this in the Arts and Crafts forum - they might have more suggestions than me. Good luck.

Yikes. I have no clue. Is there a number you can call on the bottle?

Actually, things aren't nearly as bad as they look. Baby wipes and carpet cleaner took care of most everything barring the skin - I was able to take care of all of the kitchen surfaces with just some wet paper towels. Good info to know if anyone is every faced with the same problem

I do have to laugh at it though - silence definitely means something, even in a supposedly child-proofed room.

I was about to suggest vodka, but I thought you'd misunderstand. Baby wipes will move ANYTHING. It's terrifying.
For Michael, take a handful of salt, a handful of sugar and some washing up liquid. Scrub. Keep scrubbing. Scrub some more. Then some more. Stop when the blue comes off or you see blood. OR, of course, leave him like this knowing that in 28 days or less he'll be back to normal and he will never do it again.

SB - we rent too, but last night I was beyond caring.

Helen - thanks for the tip wrt the salt/sugar/soap mixture. I've been toying with using some toothpaste on his hands today, but I really don't want him to make that connection.
