Names for a new business

Hi, I was wondering if you have any creative ideas for business names that you are not completely attached to? I have been trying to think of some names, but I am having trouble getting started. I don't want to *steal* anyone's ideas, I just need a springboard to jump off from. I am training to be a childbirth educator through Birthworks and a birth doula through DONA. I was hoping to find something either spiritual or nature related. My favorite store growing up was Acorn Street Yarn. I like the Acorn Street part, but there wasn't actually an Acorn Street in Seattle. I think it sounds homey. And I really like the acorn into a giant oak thing, a small seed growing into something beautiful and magnificent.

What about Little Seed _____? or Acorn Babies?

Thanks for the help.:

I don't have any ideas, but wanted to say that I am in the same boat. I am nearing the end of my apprenticeship, and have no idea what to call my future practice.

I don't know why it is so hard for me to come up with good names!

Anyways, good luck finding the perfect name.

Isn't the saying "from tiny acorns, great oaks grow"? So how about Tiny Acorns, or From Tiny Acorns.

That's what I was kind of thinking. I just want to know that whatever name I decide on eventually will not confuse people... ykwim?

What about Full Moon Bellies as an alternative?

When thinking of a business name, I think its really inportant that the name really speaks for itself, in that there is no room for confusion about what service you offer....so little accorn birth might work, but from little accorns makes me think of a daycare or early learning centre. Say the name and think of what it brings up in your mind of what services this business might offer....make sure its what you want!! and good luck, ive just gone through this!!

As a consumer I would look for something more straightforward and descriptive than too cutesy. For example La Leche League instead of Milky Mommas or whatever. In our area a new childrens furniture store is called "the babies room" and they seem to be drawing more customers than another one called "hey, baby!" because what the heck is a hey baby? The babies room gives you the idea of what they are marketing too. If you are selling a service to new mothers or pregnant mothers perhaps your name should be geared to them, not the baby. I don't know if I would put a food association with a birth related business either. For example, Gentle Hands Birth Doulas instead of Peachstreet Doula service.
